Introducing: Wake Tech HRDHRD (Human Resources Development) courses provide employability skills training and assistance for adults who are trying to find employment, transitioning back into the workforce, or working to find their place in today's global market.
HRD & WorkKeys®• HRD offers an important workplace assessment called
WorkKeys®.• Successful completion of WorkKeys® assessments can lead
to earning a National Career Readiness Certificate® (NCRC®)—a credential that verifies foundational workplace skills.
• There are four levels to earn your NCRC Certificate: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum
WorkKeys®To determine your certificate level, WorkKeys® looks at three areas that employers find useful - Workplace Documents, Graphic Literacy, and Applied Math.
• Workplace documents looks at your ability to use written information such as directions, signs, policies, etc. to do the job
• Graphic literacy measures your skill level to locate and use information from workplace graphics
• Applied math assesses your problem-solving techniques and math skills
WorkKeys® ScoresAfter you complete the WorkKeys® assessment you will receive your scores.If you scored:• 3 and up in all three areas you will receive a Bronze Certificate• 4 and up in all three areas you will receive a Silver Certificate• 5 and up in all three areas you will receive a Gold Certificate• 6 and up in all three areas you will receive a Platinum

WorkKeys® Practice Account• You do not need to prepare for the pre-assessment in
advance.• Once you have a practice account, you will be able to take the
Practice Quiz wherever you can access the internet from a computer.
• The following slides detail the process for getting a practice account and how to access it.
Getting Your Practice Account• After participating in an information session, you will receive
an email with information needed to register as an HRD student. You will also be receiving a Wake Tech email in order to complete your registration and for class purposes.
• After you are registered, you will receive your practice account information that will have your username and password.

Once signed in, click on the drop-down arrow to select one of the curriculums in yellow
After selecting a curriculum, click on Quizzes on the left side of the page
On the Quizzes Dashboard, click on Placement Quiz
To begin the Placement Quiz, click on Start Quiz
Read the question, select your answer and then click Confirm
After you complete the quiz, you will receive a score and will be able to see which questions you answered
correctly or which ones you missed
Next Steps• Your score will determine if you need additional
practice to achieve the certificate level you need.• You will receive an individualized plan that will let
you know your next steps.
WorkKeys® Assessment• Once the college campuses reopen,
we will be offering the WorkKeys® Assessment.
• The WorkKeys® practice is a “work at your own pace” activity. You can start and stop as needed.
• We will provide more guidance as we step through the process together.
• In the meantime, practice, practice, practice.
