Practice makes Perfect!
The children are becoming more and more confident with writing their names independently! The
pure joy they express when they notify me of their most recent letter triumph is so
inspiring
Pine Arts
That’s right, our evergreen exploration continues--but this time at the art center! Our K4 scientists have been examining pine needles on evergreen branches at the science center. They are noticing that pine needles come in a variety of sizes, textures, and
shades of green. This week, we explored pine needles in a new way…with paint! The children noticed how the needles made long ‘scratchy’ marks when they swept their
branches back and forth, but made star-burst marks when they pressed their branches up and down like stamps.
Feeling inspired…
The children have been intrigued with the bookmark I use for our Bible stories, so they made their own in the writing center this week! They used yarn, hole punchers, and letter stamps. They enjoyed making book marks for their peers, too!
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner!
I am hoping to have the children make/decorate their own Valentine’s Day boxes in a couple of weeks. If you have any empty rectangular Kleenex boxes you are willing to donate, we will put them to good use . I would like to complete our boxes before
February 14th so that the children can put their Valentines for their classmates into the boxes on Valentine’s day.
Thank you for all of your donations of full Kleenex boxes this week! Our runny noses thank you, too.
