model states that the economic “core” is located in the Northern hemisphere and the economic “periphery” is located in the Southern hemisphere.

Usually characterized by low economic development, high birth rates, poor social conditions.

Most parts of Sub Saharan Africa and Haiti are good examples of LDC’s.
