What is it like to live in an LDC?

Write a short story or diary entry from the perspective of someone who lives in

an LDC. What challenges do you face? What are your hopes and dreams?

Look at Table 1.3 from page #42 in your textbook. In what countries do women seem to have the lowest status?

Core-Periphery Model The core-periphery

model states that the economic “core” is located in the Northern hemisphere and the economic “periphery” is located in the Southern hemisphere.

Developing Countries Also referred to as

LDC’s or 3rd World countries.

Usually characterized by low economic development, high birth rates, poor social conditions.

Most parts of Sub Saharan Africa and Haiti are good examples of LDC’s.
