¿What is RITAM?The main purpose of scientific research is to generate new knowledge, and for its appli-cation to contribute to the breakthrough of humankind. From Academia, scientific re-search propels the development of new resources, techniques, systems and sets of tools that help improve those processes that enhance society. To accomplish such goals, it becomes necessary for Higher Education Institutions to join efforts; this has given rise to the Technological Research and Musical Arts Network (RITAM, by its acronym in Spa-nish).

The RITAM Network is aimed at promoting, fostering, and furthering technological re-search as well as musical arts in Ecuador and around the Globe. It has been registered under the Secretariat of Higher Education (SENESCYT by its initials in Spanish) since 2018, and it has prevailed thanks to the aim of Higher Education Institutions and Public Conservatories of Music for disclosing academic projects entailing research, as well as the results of entrepreneurial initiatives, products and services, and for sharing expe-riences in terms of Community Development, which link both the Academia and so-cio-productive sectors.

RITAM conducts research and studies related to fields such as: Health and Wellbeing, Education, Conservation, Preservation of Cultural Heritage, Musical Arts, Management and Accounting, Agriculture and Livestock, Environment, Biodiversity and Climate Change, Energy and Materials, Industrial Development, inclusive Societies and Terri-tories, and Information & Communication Technologies, fueled by new technological tendencies which in turn, are meant to unfold different research processes.

BackgroundRITAM organized its first congress in 2019, hosted by Instituto Superior Tecnológico Central Técnico. The current presidency, with the PhD. San-tiago Illescas Correa -Principal at Instituto Superior Tecnológico Sucre as a leader, has the goal to follow up to the Network actions organizing the II International Conference of Technological Research RITAM 2021, which is to take place on the 27th, 28th and 29th of October, 2021, on virtual mode. The event will feature with master expositions by national and international researchers, project presentations on various topics, entrepreneurship pro-jects as well as and scientific & academic poster presentations.

Objective

The objective of the II International Conference of Technological Research RITAM 2021 is to generate a space for collaboration and broadcasting of the results of the newest projects in R&D activity, for researchers, students, professionals of the Academy, The Industry and the Government, by chan-neling the presentation and discussion of ideas, experiences and challen-ges in the technology and the musical arts areas, promoting technological research in the topics: Cultural - Social, Economic - Productive, Innovation - Development, Environmental and Political - Institutional, in the local and national development, in order to consolidate the generation of transfer of practical knowledge between Higher Education Institutions and society as a whole.

Call of PapersThe national and international scientific community, researchers, students, Higher Technological Institutions at the national level, professionals, public and private companies, entrepreneurs, social, cultural and government en-tities are welcome to submit their Scientific Papers on various topics, to be featured during the II International Conference of Technological Research RITAM 2021 which will be held online on October 27, 28 and 29, 2021, and managed through various technological platforms.

The development of RITAM 2021 will contribute to the dissemination of Research Projects at the national and international level, with the purpose of achieving a fluid relationship of shared interests between the productive sector and the Academy in Ecuador.

“Technology that enhances society” is the slogan of the RITAM 2021, which refers to the use of technologies in the various fields of science, culture, technology, business, communications, arts, environment, heritage, educa-tion, and the fact that these must be closely related towards fostering and promoting significant changes in society.

FormatThe II International Conference of Technological Re-search RITAM 2021 will be carried out in a hybrid form: the opening and closing of the event will be executed in person, while the master expositions, presentation of Research papers, Scientific posters and Entrepreneurship projects will execute in a vir-tually mode, through different platforms.

ParticipantsRITAM 2021 will bring together professors and students from Superior Institutions of Education nationwide, natio-nal and foreign scientific communities, researchers, public and private companies, entrepreneurs, productive and service sectors representatives and social, cultural and government entities, as well as promote the services and products of the sponsor companies, giving a contact that enabling and encouraging the generation of agreements and projects of R&D

Publication - IndexationThe papers that deal with the different R&D projects on the topics of ¨TECHNOLOGY, INNOVATION and DEVELOPMENT¨ will be pu-blished in the formal proceedings of Congress and in the AISC series of SPRINGER magazine, for later indexing in SCOPUS. Arti-cles on the topics of “COMPANIES AND SERVICES” will be publi-shed in the ECUADORIAN SCIENCE JOURNAL magazine, which is indexed on a LATINDEX basis.

Posters and Entrepreneurship Presentations will be attached to the Proceedings of Congress.

Registration and FeesThis is a non-profit academic event; namely, participation is free of cost. Participants who wish to attend the event must previously register on the congress website. If par-ticipants wish to download the corresponding Certificate of Attendance, they must cover the cost of logistics and printing.
