How will the entries be processed? Validated entries will undergo a two-step process:

1. Initial screening by a jury comprising of leaders and changemakers in the design disciplines of object-, image-, place-making, and systems.

2. Final screening by a jury composed of 13 multidiscipline industry leaders with no less

than 10-year experience. What are the evaluation criteria? Jury from both the initial and final screening will evaluate the entries based on the following:

• Innovativeness Ingenuity and capacity to enrich human life by providing new or improved programs and services

• Functionality Capability of product or service to deliver intended purpose or function with clarity

• Form Presentation, appeal, and ability to communicate purpose that makes it desirable to the user

• Malasakit Measurable impact in line with United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

What awards will be given?

Good Design Award Philippines – Red Eligible entries with at least an average of 90 points in the final screening Good Design Award Philippines – Gold Gold Awardees are the highest rated design entries per design discipline (object-, image-, placemaking, and systems) from the pool of Red Awardees Good Design Award Philippines – Green Selected from the Red and Gold Awardees, the Green Awardee is the design entry that has the most impact on SDGs related to environment and sustainability (i.e. SDGs 6: Clean Water and Sanitation; 7: Affordable and Clean Energy; 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; and 12: Responsible Consumption and Production) Good Design Award Philippines - Gran Prix Selected from the pool of Gold Awardees, the Gran Prix Awardee is determined via quorum of the entire jury panel based on its impact in addressing the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Entries received after 23:59 (Philippine Standard Time) via online submission will no longer be accepted. Personal submissions will only be accepted until 18:00 at the Design Center lobby.

August/September 2019 : Initial Screening (Jury Session)

16 – 19 September 2019 : Final Screening 20 September 2019 : Awards Ceremony 17 – 19 October 2019 : Good Design Award Philippines Exhibition at

Manila FAME Note: Entry Validation will be conducted as entries are received. Incomplete submission automatically disqualifies the entry. Notice will be given to the applicant upon entry validation on pass/fail basis. Fees Participation is free of charge. However, if necessary, cost of transportation of entries are the responsibility of the entrant. How to get an entry form and submit it? Entry forms may be obtained through the following means:

Save accomplished entry form in a file sharing platform such as Google Drive or Dropbox, and email link to [email protected]. Subject line should have the following format: GDAPH_LASTNAME_SUBCATEGORY. e.g. GDAPH_DE LA CRUZ_FURNITURE FURNISHINGS DECOR

3. In Person Application and Submission Visit the Design Center Office located at G/F PTTC Building, Senator Gil J. Puyat Avenue corner Roxas Boulevard, 1300 Pasay City, Metro Manila. Printed copy (A4 size paper) of accomplished entry form must be placed in a sealed long brown envelope addressed to “Good Design Award Secretariat”. Drop off entries at the lobby of the Design Center Office.

Terms and Conditions By participating and submitting work/s to the Good Design Award Philippines, entrants fully agree to the provisions stated below. Any violation to the terms and conditions will be grounds for disqualification. In which case, submitted entries will automatically be withdrawn from the competition.

On Submitted Information Entrant allows the organizer to reproduce all non-confidential information submitted in the registration and entry forms. Entrant allows the organizer to use the name of the entrant for future materials related to the entry and this award. Entrant allows the organizer to use/ publish submitted photos and text for promotion related to the awards. On Images Organizer can take photos of the product/ service and publish in both digital and print media for promotional activities with or without prior notice. Entrant and entry name will always be shown as caption with or without prior notice. Copyright Infringement and Intellectual Property Entrants declare that their submitted work/s are original and do not violate or infringe copyright, trademarks or any intellectual property. The organizers and the screening committee will validate entry information submitted by entrants up to the best of their ability and availability of resources. The organizer will keep technical information on entries and will only be shown to the screening committee and jury. Sensitive information will not be shared to the public and will be disposed seven (7) days after announcement of winners. Dispute or protest must be brought to the attention of the organizer within seven (7) days of public announcement. The organizer will revoke the Good Design Award Philippines mark awarded to the winner and will only reinstate if proceedings are in favor of the entrant. Upon entry, entrants agree that organizers cannot be sued for reasons related to copyright infringement or intellectual property violation. Copyright and intellectual property of the entries remains with the entrant.
