Annotation

This source was found in Academic Search Complete. I think this article is very useful. The article exposes how U.S. tobacco companies are still up to their corrupt practices, except in other countries.

Cataldo, Janine K., and Ruth E. Malone. "False Promises: The Tobacco Industry, “Low Tar” Cigarettes, and Older Smokers." Journal of the American Geriatrics Society 56.9 (2008): 1716-1723. Academic Search Complete. EBSCO. Web. 5 Oct. 2010.

Annotation

This source was found in Academic Search Complete. This journal show’s how the tobacco companies targeted older smokers in an attempt to keep them from quitting smoking. I believe the marketing of “low tar” and “light” cigarettes is a way of keeping cigarette smokers from quitting smoking.

Annotation

This source was found in Academic Search Complete. This journal gives different viewpoints on what is and isn’t deceptive advertising. I believe while trying to defend your viewpoint on subject matter, it is important to show that you understand the opposing viewpoint.

Annotation

This source contains information on advertising unhealthy products. Advertising something unhealthy brings up the question of whether or not it is ethical to advertise that product. Ask yourself if you would want someone to advertise something to you that was bad for your health?

This site is a good source because the information is coming from a university and has two authors. This site gives a view of the immoral practices of marketing cigarettes. I was very pleased with the information I found at this site.
