HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY HAVE THE SAME TRAITS WITH ONE OF YOUR PARENTS?
GENETICS – is the study of heredity and the factors that affect heredity.
•PANGENE HYPOTHESIS( ARISTOTLE) –contributions of traits from the parents in their offspring are very unequal.
• BLENDING HYPOTHESIS – off springs possess intermediate traits coming from both parents.
• BLOOD THEORY – states that blood contains the heredity information being passed on from one generation to another w/c gave rise to the so called “ bloodline”.
He made some crosses on his garden peas (pisum sativum)
And reported all his findings and made it published the interpretations of his work. 16 years later , 3 scientists
rediscovered his work and credited him for pioneering the study about genetics. Unfortunately his achievement was
only recognized after 50 years.
