Because Calhoun Cares view video Because of the generous donations from the Calhoun community, Shaw Industries and local businesses, Wall Street Catering and our other restaurant partners, are busy preparing hundreds of free meals for our community’s healthcare workers and at-risk elderly during the COVID-19 crisis. “Restaurant Partners” include Thurstons, King Street Market, Christian & Jakes and Calhoun Coffee Company. Thank you Calhoun!” THE CALHOUN CITY SCHOOL BUSES ARE STILL ROLLING DELIVERING MEALS TO STUDENTS DURING THE STATE MANDATED CLOSING OF ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THESE ARE ESPECIALLY TRYING TIMES FOR SMALL BUSINESSES. YOU MAY QUALIFY FOR HELP! BELOW, PLEASE VIEW THE SBA EMERGENCY LOAN APPLICATION. INDIVIDUALS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO EMAIL CORRESPONDANCE WITH APPLICATION. Information Regarding Student Meal Services Meal pick-up and delivery services have been revised to limit exposure and contact with groups of more than 10 people. We will continue to follow the CDC’s guidance to protect our students, staff and families. Meals will be delivered and available at feeding sites on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, students will receive hot meals along with bagged lunches for the following days. On Thursdays, students will receive 2 breakfast meals and 2 lunch meals to ensure they have meals for Friday. Our goal is to limit exposure, but also make sure we are meeting the nutritional needs of our students. Thank you for your assistance during this health crisis. If you would prefer to pick up a lunch or breakfast, you may do so by visiting Calhoun Elementary School between the hours of 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Someone will be stationed behind the school where carpool pickup/drop off is located. Additional Meal Pick-Up Locations include Belmont Baptist Church (275 West Belmont Drive) and The Voluntary Action Center (343 S. Wall Street) at the same times of 11:00-1:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Note that these locations are in addition to the pick-up location at Calhoun Elementary School and bus routes. Emergency Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)

Eligibility 500 employees or fewer

Up to $2 million can be provided to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses that

could have been met if the disaster did not occur think of this as working capital

Loans can be made based solely on credit scores

Loans available to all non-profits including 501(c )(6)s

Loans below $200000 can be approved without a personal guarantee

Borrowers can receive $10000 cash advances that are forgiven if spent on paid leave maintaining

payroll increased costs due to supply chain disruption mortgage or lease payments or repaying

obligations that cannot be met due to revenue losses

The interest rate on EIDLs will not exceed 4 percent per year

375 interest rate for Small Businesses

275 interest rate for non profits

First payment will be deferred and not become due until one year after the original

disbursement Interest does accrue doing this time

The term of these loans will not exceed 30 years

EIDL assistance is available only to small businesses when SBA determines they are unable to

obtain credit elsewhere This does not include the ability to access a general line of credit SBA will

complete the thorough analysis to determine this based on the information provided by the

applicant

Emergency Economic Injury Grants

For those that apply for the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) an advance of $10000 will be

provided to small businesses and nonprofits within three days of applying for the loan

The EIDL grant does not need to be repaid even if the grantee is subsequently denied an EIDL

Funds can be used to provide paid sick leave to employees maintaining payroll meet increased

production costs due to supply chain disruptions or pay business obligations including debts rent

and mortgage payments

Eligibility- Recipients must have been in operation on January 31 2020 and is available to small

businesses private nonprofits sole proprietors and independent contractors tribal businesses as

well as cooperatives and employee-owned businesses

The Small Business Administration currently has two major loan programs in response to COVID-19 A

business can apply for both the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program and Paycheck Protection

Program IF there are different use of proceeds for each program Funds from these loans cannot be

comingled
