Kriska is proud to be one of the largest single participating employers in the Commercial Tractor Trailer Driver Apprenticeship Program.  Not only does our industry benefit greatly by having entry level drivers trained and evaluated against a clearly defined set of skills but many entrants recognize the value of being able to earn their apprenticeship certificate. Apprenticeship training is one more way to bring credibility to the profession of being a commercial driver.

In the highly competitive trucking industry, there are no shortcuts to core challenges like successfully staffing a company with safe and professional drivers. Our company is investing in new drivers to the industry, by giving them a safe, professional and supportive environment in which to develop the necessary skills for a successful driving career, while the accessibility of the Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit provides much needed financial assistance to help support our goal of maintaining a highly skilled driver group.

We are proud to participate in the Driver Apprenticeship program as it gives our drivers a chance to be recognized for the skills and training that they have participated in. This is a great step in elevating the status of our professional Drivers. It means a lot to our drivers that we participate in this.

As an original stakeholder in the Commercial Tractor Trailer Driver Apprenticeship Program, I can’t say how proud I am to see it succeed.  As a member of the Transportation Insurance Industry, it was my honor to champion this program with my fellow insurer colleagues.  As responsible, contributing members of the transportation industry, we believe this program is much needed and is fully supported by us.

• Upon registration, the apprentice is issued a Ministry “Training Standard” for the occupation which outlines the skills and competencies that must be mastered and signed‐off before he/she is eligible for certification.

• During the registration process, the sponsor/employer and the ETC will agree on a training implementation plan.
