These four screen grabs are from the film opening, Sherlock Holmes. We got our inspiration form this and we will attempt to imitate these effects in some ways and input them into our film opening. Through this we will be able to show the opening credits while showing what is going on. These four screen grabs are from the film opening, Sherlock Holmes. We got our inspiration form this and we will attempt to imitate these effects in some ways and input them into our film opening. Through this we will be able to show the opening credits while showing what is going on. It will give the audience some insight of what type of film it is and it will show them the different events taking place.

The image above is the type of writing that will be shown in our film opening. Out film is mainly about a ransom and we want to make it really clear that our genre is based around crime. We also conformed to the stereotype that, the type of writing is mainly based in crime films with a mysterious sense to it. So that is the reason why it will be included in our film opening.

Usually in Crime films:• Props: money, drugs and guns.• Lighting: Dark lighting, (Night) • Costume: Street clothing,

something shows that they are involved with money. Suits show people that are really wealthy and street clothing.

• Dialogue: Slang language.• Sound: cynical music, high tempo

music or grime/street music.• Camera work: High angle

Establishing long shot to show the setting of the movie e.g. the streets.

Through the film openings we watched, we noticed that the main actors are introduced either by a voice over or just visually. The opening credits are used to introduce the actors or the producers.
