TASTE! OngoingGallery 2 | During opening hoursTASTE! is an exhibition of artworks from Glasgow Museums’ collection displayed alongside material from our archive, exploring how collections are built, artworks are commissioned and exhibitions are organised.

Domestic BlissOngoing Gallery 4 | During opening hours Domestic Bliss is an exhibition of works from Glasgow Museums’ collection reflecting on how artists work with fine art and craft practices responding to social and political changes.

EXHIBITION

Linda McCartney Retrospective Until Sun 12 Jan 2020 | During opening hours | Adult £7/£5 Conc. Under 16s freeA major retrospective photographic exhibition, which is curated by Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney. It features iconic names and moments in music from the 1960s along with more intimate and emotional later work by this acclaimed and prolific photographer.

The retrospective also includes one of Linda McCartney’s

diaries from the 1960s displayed in public for the first time and bringing new insight into the contemporary music scene of the era and the beginnings of her photographic career.

Cameras used by Linda McCartney and held in her archive will also be displayed in public for the first time, along with Polaroids and contact sheets which explore her creativity and use of the different techniques.

Working Title: Picture This … Sun 29 Sep | 1.30–4pm | Ask a member of staff where this ‘experience’ begins.Enjoy interactive ‘happenings’ in the galleries: inspired by the Linda McCartney Retrospective, post creative pics to our Instagram. THE BURRELL AT KELVINGROVE:

Collecting Chinese Treasures From 14 Sep–Spring 2020Which collector was ahead of his time? This exhibition showcases 60 works of Chinese ceramics, jade and bronze selected by curator Dr Yupin Chung and guest curator Jorge Welsh from up to 1,800 objects in the Burrell Collection. It explores how tastes in fashion have largely accounted for the ‘wanderings’ of artistic masterpieces.

Remembering SrebrenicaFrom Fri 23 Aug | During opening hoursThree artworks by Robert McNeil MBE of Remembering Srebrenica Scotland are now on display in St Mungo Museum. The artist was a forensic technician in Kosovo and Bosnia during the Balkan wars in the 1990s. After retiring, McNeil made paintings inspired by sights he had witnessed. These works were purchased by Glasgow Museums for the collection with a generous grant from the National Fund for Acquisitions.
