Donnie Hatheways version o Whats Going On - rom the live album o

1974 - is a very cool remake o an already very cool original! The bassline has a very subtle swing 16th note eel which ive not noted on thescore. So when you interpret it please bear that in mind. And its a seri-ous groove masterclass.

A lot o contemporary hip hop/r&b type bass lines have a swing 16thnote eel. And you can nd this eel in smooth jazz too. The bass linethat Willie Weeks plays is very, very cool. There is a ton o stu you could

take rom this to work on in your own playing.

Ive been working on the transcription on and o or our months orso. Please note that I consider this a rst drat - at some stage Ill takeanother detailed pass, there are a ew bars where I want to relook at therhythmic notation.

The transcription is presented in notation, and then notation with tab.The tabbed positions refect my current pre-occupation with playing inrst position - eel ree to change it around to suit your own ngeringsystem and retboard scale.
