This book is for reference only, reflecting information available as of June 2009, and is subject to change without notice. FMVSS 201U: Interior head impact requirement for incomplete/ altered vehicles.Effective: Vehicles built on/ or after 09/01/2009.

Vehicle Applicability: Any final stage upfit or alteration performed on a Cutaway or Van/ Wagon at 10,000 lbs. GVWR or less with the following exemptions: School bus or anybus configuration w/ 10,000 lbs. GVWR or less or Stripped Chassis models.

Important:Ford has tested their Cutaways, Vans/ Wagons at 10,000 lbs. GVWR or less. These vehicles asbuilt, meet the 201U requirements. However, any upfit or alteration which affects the function, location or structural characteristics of any upper interior trim component will need to berecertified. Also, any added components must conform to the 201U requirements whereapplicable. See 2010 MY incomplete Vehicle Manual for more details.

FMVSS 301: Fuel system integrity for Incomplete/ Altered VehiclesEffective: Vehicles built on/ or after 09/01/2009.

For 2010MY E-Series Job #1 additional Chassis components are being added for, which will require IVM installation, for FMVSS 301 pass thru compliance on E350 SRW/ DRW Cutaways (School Bus and Non School Bus) and Stripped Chassis models. See examples below

F350 SRW Chassis Cab vehicles (10,000 lbs. GVWR and less) will not be available from09/01/09 until remainder of the 2010MY). These models will be available 2011MY Job #1.

F250/ F350 SRW with Box Delete option and/ or Box Removals (10,000 lbs. GVWR and less):For FMVSS 301 pass thru compliance upfitter chassis modifications may be required for someupfit body types. Upfitters may be required to add Chassis components (Not provided by Ford),as detailed in the Incomplete Vehicle Manual and Body Builders Layout Book for FMVSS 301pass thru compliance. Please refer to the Incomplete Vehicle Manual or contact the Body Builders Advisory Service for more information.

New 2011MY F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis


The 2011MY Ford F59 is derived from our #1 Selling Class A Motorhome chassis. Drivers are provided a full complement of message center features including: engine hour meter, distance-to-empty, average fuel economy, outside air temperature and system check. Available in a wide range of GVWR’s and wheelbases.

This commercial stripped chassis is built to reduce maintenance costs, with rear-axle “lubed for life” lubrication, high-efficiency internal trans filter with 60,000-mile service interval, engine features like fail-safe cooling system and 100,000-mile tune-up interval. In addition, the F-59 chassis meets the new Heavy Duty Final Gas Emissions standards.

New 2011MY F53 Motorhome Stripped Chassis


The 2011MY Ford F53 is the #1 Selling Class A Motorhome chassis. Its Triton V10 gasoline engine, 5-speed TorqShift transmission, a tough ladder-type frame and wide range of wheelbase offerings make this a popular choice among RV’ers at all levels of the market. These features are further enhanced by an 8000 lb front GAWR on the 22K GVWR chassis, revised rear axle ratios on the 16K and 18K chassis for improved fuel economy and increased fuel capacity from 75 to 80 gallons on all motorhome chassis.
