all of her fairyland friends want to help make their fairy friend happy. Wizzy conjures up some crazy spells; Elf teaches some very princessey dances; barnaby gathers sweet nectar to make the perfect princess potion while her best friend, harmony, brings all of the helpful ideas together.

but just when it seems like dreams do come true, rhapsody realises the not-so-good things about being a princess. Just what will this pretty pink fairy decide to do in the end?

The 39 Steps is a fast-paced, side-splitting comedy for all the family. based on the 1935 hitchcock spy thriller movie and novel by John buchan, the stage production features 150 characters in a whirlwind of action played by four actors. The play follows the heart-racing adventures of a handsome hero chased by international spies.

KaThy TEMIn: blaCK gardEns 30 August – 13 October 2013

Black Gardens combines the softness of fur with the harshness of wood. Each piece is a composed of trees and garden imagery atop a box which could be either a tomb or fertile soil. The pieces represent sorrow, loss and yearning towards light. Temin has exhibited nationally and internationally.

danIEl bOyd: a darKEr shadE OF darK30 August – 13 October 2013The layers of mesmerising dots depicted in daniel boyd’s floor-to-ceiling video projection, recall the dot paintings of papunya Tula, and also seem reminiscent of the great western movements pointillism and impressionism.

a drIFTIng TIdE19 September – 20 Octobera selection of artworks from the port Macquarie-hastings Council art Collection exploring the spirit of the natural environment from several local and national artists. The 2013 Osmosis artists’ presentation will feature as part of this exhibition.

alun lEaCh-JOnEs4 October – 1 Decembera selection of recent works from one of australia’s most renowned abstract artists working in the genre of abstraction. In this body of work leach-Jones has distilled the cacophonous imagery of which he is known into single motifs made from cast bronze.

OpEraTIOn arT25 October – 17 November 2013an annual exhibition of children’s art from schools throughout nsW created for the Children’s hospital, Westmead. Children create their artworks knowing that they will be appreciated by sick children and their families.
