Unit Rate
• Unit rate is a ratio that compares quantities of different units.
• To find the unit rate of something you divide the price by the number of oz.

Cereal #1The number of ounces in Essential Choice is 16.4 oz.So to find the unit price for every ounce you divide $2.37 by 16.4 .
2.37÷16.4=.15
Ounces----------- Price
= 16.4---------$2.37
Price Per Ounce= .15
Cereal #2The number of ounces is 16.4 also. But the price for this box is $3.58. So to find the unit price for every one ounce you divide $3.58 by 16.4 .
3.58÷16.4=.22
Ounces----------- Price

16.4------------ 3.58
Price Per Ounce= .22
Cereal #3This box of cereal has 15 oz in it. So to find the unit price you divide $3.58 by 15 to get the price per ounce.
3.58÷15=.24
