BELVÉDÈRE APARTMENT | MONTREAL | CANADA | 2017

A personable space to live and work in a 40-floor tower in the centre of Montreal. This was the challenge facing the Desjardins Bherer studio in 2017: having to convert an awkward, long, narrow L-shaped space into the ideal home for a local family who were returning

to the city after living in California. COMPAC Engineered quartz is a main feature in the kitchen and the bathroom flooring of this impressive apartment. The designers chose COMPAC Unique Calacatta™ for the kitchen countertops and Island and the bathroom floor.

Bámbola Bar:21st-Century DesignBy Doos InteriorismoInspired By Art Déco

BÁMBOLA BAR VALLADOLID | SPAIN | 2018

A good example of the well known Art Déco Style is Bámbola Bar in Valladolid (Spain), which has used this near century-old universe as an inspiration, in tune with a trend enjoying a renaissance in Europe.

The project by Doos Interiorismo mixes materials and textures: copper, bronze, tin, gold, velvet, mouldings and quartz, as well as furniture from international brands such as Tom Dixon. Navy blue and black are major elements in the colour palette, which are enhanced by the Unique Marquina™ quartz design by COMPAC used for the bar and tables throughout the premises. Technological quartz is ideal for this type of surface thanks to its high resistance and the possibility it offers for moulding, as it always provides a natural grain design.

Interior Design In Spaces For Events And Celebrations: The Importance Of Surfaces

PALAU ALAMEDA | VALENCIA | SPAIN | 2018

Palau Alameda is a new space for leisure and gastronomy in Valencia, Spain, designed by Parolio Studio, who needed to bring together different areas maintaining a shared brand expression, while offering functionality and discerning ambiences.

COMPAC has managed to give this project the uniqueness it deserves

through its quartz and marble designs, including the Ice of Genesis Collection by Arik Levy and the UNIQUE Collection.

COMPAC’s engineered marble has been chosen for the flooring of a large part of the building as it has properties of hardness and resistance that are much superior to those of other materials, making it ideal for heavily.

Rustic Modern Style: Materials And Designs

Although at first they might seem incompatible, it is possible to bring together two trends as different as rustic design and modern style. Rustic design generally refers to a look that is natural, ethnic and somewhat rough around the edges; a look that provides a space with a warm and cozy feeling. Modern design, on the other hand, is a style that encompasses all the characteristics associated to the 20th century modern movement. In general terms, it emphasizes clean and strict lines, plain and monochromatic colors to create a certain industrial feel.

COMPAC Surfaces constitute a key element in the design of rustic modern spaces. After a great product development process, COMPAC has created an innovative quality product consisting of marble and quartz finishes, designed with clean lines and mineral textures. Pasadena Showcase House:Transformating A 1915 House

PASADENA SHOWCASE HOUSE | PASADENA, CALIFORNIA | UNITED STATES | 2018

The 2018 Pasadena Showcase House, called “The Overlook” is a majestic Mediterranean masterpiece designed by the distinguished architect Reginald Davis Johnson. The Kitchen and Butler’s pantry of the house designed by Cozy Stylish Chic, features COMPAC’s Ice Black quartz design from the Ice of Genesis Collection on the big table at the breakfast area.

“I needed a surface that would substitute for a black stone with veining but without

the maintenance. The main table takes a beating with a family of five and I knew that Compac would be far more durable than natural stone and at the same time, just as beautiful and dramatic. Also, considering that the kitchen was an eclectic mix of traditional and modern, I felt that the unique veining of Ice Black would give the space a modern edge, which it did” relates Jeanne Chung, Interior Designer of Cozy Stylish Chic Studio.

Sir Norman Foster Chooses COMPAC’s marble For The Headquarters OfIts Foundation

NORMAN FOSTER FOUNDATION MADRID | SPAIN | 2017

Madrid is officially the city that Sir Norman Foster, one of the most important architects of the last 40 years, has chosen to locate the headquarters of the foundation that carries his name. The foundation is based in a Heritage-listed Palace designed by Joaquín Saldaña in 1912 for the Duke of Plasencia that has a courtyard pavilion to host events, discussions, and exhibitions.

The Pavilion of the foundation – The Pavilion of Inspirations – as Foster named it, is designed and built with the thought of light and lightness that Foster has pushed over his professional career. The space uses laminated glass walls as the structure to hold up a steel and glass fiber roof with no visible means of support as well as White Micro Thassos COMPAC marble for the 144 m² of flooring. The entrance of the Pavilion is covered by a canopy created by Spanish architect Cristina Iglesias.

EmorionalFormation, the new Chamberof Wonder for Swarovski

SWAROVSKI KRISTALLWELTEN | WATTENS | AUSTRIA | 2017

Swarovski Crystal Worlds was opened in 1995 to mark the centennial anniversary of the company’s founding. Artist André Heller designed a unique and magical place in which the centerpiece for has the shape of the Giant. The realm of the Giant hosts a rich collection of precious items housed in 17 Chambers of Wonder.

One of them, inaugurated in 2017, is Arik Levy’s EmotionalFormation which represents a spatial expansion of the concept “Transparent Opacity”. In EmotionalFormation, special floor installations with COMPAC’s Ice Black quartz design create a labyrinth-like effect, where your eyes and body wander from one section to the next, from one sculpture to the next, discovering something new at every turn.

CSR And Architecture: Planting TreesTo Offset The Impact On The Environment

In the field of architecture and product design, COMPAC Surfaces has a deep-rooted culture of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aimed at actively contributing to social, economic and environmental improvement. The most outstanding environmental action, in terms of its visibility, is the reforestation program it has in its Abrantes factory, in Portugal. In 2003 the company started to plant trees in the plots where the facilities are located, specifically, in an area of 54 hectares.

The aim is to offset the CO2 emissions generated during the shipping of the products, as well as the emissions produced by the supply of raw materials. In 2012, COMPAC continued with the reforestation project, planting up to 30,000 native pine trees in the aforementioned plots. To this we have to add the responsible use of water, as the factory in Spain has a system for the collection and storage of rainwater for its use in industrial processes.
