Young dragon Tabaluga lives with his foster father, Kolk the Raven, in picturesque Greenland. As he never learned how to breathe fire he urgently needs advice from a real, grown-up dragon. But Tabaluga is the last of his kind. The only other buddy he has is loudmouth ladybug Bully. One day, Tabaluga and Bully are lured to Iceland, which is ruled by evil Lord Arktos. When he meets beautiful ice prin-cess Lilli there, it’s love at first sight. Lilli takes Tabaluga to see Arktos, without realizing Arktos wants to do away with all the dragons so he can freeze Green-land. But little does Arktos suspect that Lilli has fallen in love with Tabaluga as well. She helps him and Bully escape from Iceland. Through the strength of their love, Tabaluga finally learns how to breathe fire. To foil Arktos’s evil plan and save Greenland from his army of polar bears, Tabaluga and Lilli have to muster all their courage, and stick together like fire and ice… A moving and thrilling 3D animation adventure for the whole family. SYNOPSIS

TABALUGA is our main protagonist and sympathetic hero. As most teen-agers in idyllic Greenland, the green Dragon is curious about his surroundings and his true nature. He grew up with his stepfather, the raven Kolk, after his pa-rents died in an ice storm. His biggest wish is to awake the force of his dragon fire and when he learns that he might find his fire in Iceland, a hostile coun-try where no Greenlander can ever go, he does not hesitate for a moment. Together with his best friend, ladybug Bully, he reaches Iceland, only to fall in love with the beautiful ice princess Lilli and to meet the source of all evil: the snowman Arktos. Courageously fighting for the good and not afraid to open his heart for love and friendship, the young dragon finally will be able to find his fire and stand up against the evil and cold.

When he does his evil laugh, the icy walls of his palace start to vibrate: “MUHAHAHAHAAAAA!”. But he has also something ironic and sadistic in his voice. He likes to play with his victims. The tyrannical ruler over Iceland is thinking big: his white kingdom of ice and snow is still not enough for him. He wants to expand his empire until he can control the world with his cold power. Dragons are his only natural enemies carrying their strong fire, that dangers his quest. Arktos can look rather sweet and harmless as every other snowman, but below his appearance lies the will to conquer and destroy. When needed he can change his form into a deadly ice storm. NESSAJA is a many hundred years old, female sea turtle. She’s very wise and fullfills the function of the mentor. Nessaja turns out to play an important role in Tabaluga’s life. When the young dragon hits rock bottom at one point of our story, it’s her to show him the way out. The legend says that you can only go to Nessaja once in your life, to ask for advice. Nessaja sings the popular song “I never wanted to grow old“ and she appears and disappears with slowness and patience…

MIRMEL is a tiny, middle aged penguin, who is the assistant of Arktos. He tries very hard to be as evil as his master, but is not very successful doing it. The special thing about him is his own language, which sounds like a hysteric peeping. Only Arktos is able to understand him, for all others it sounds like “MEEEEE-MEEEEE-MEEEEEE….”. However by the way he is pronouncing it, we can imagine, what he is saying. It’s a little bit like with the Minions. To Arktos he is very submissive and obedient, but gives harsh orders to the polar bear army. Unfortunately, nobody takes him for serious, which makes him very angry…
