The Special Coordinated Training Program for Sustainability Leaders and Sustainability ‘Meisters’ program (StraSS) is focused on training talented young people to be the sustainability leaders of the near future. As a community of Asian and African universities, the StraSS Alliance provides an environment for sharing educational resources among participating institutes in an effort to foster leaders capable of contributing to a sustainable society. The goal of the 2012 StraSS Alliance symposium is to discuss the present and future situation of sustainability sciences and education.

Scope

The Special Coordinated Training Program for Sustainability Leaders and Sustainability ‘Meisters’ program (StraSS) is focused on training talented young people to be the sustainability leaders of the near future. As a community of Asian and African universities, the StraSS Alliance provides an environment for sharing educational resources among participating institutes in an effort to foster leaders capable of contributing to a sustainable society.

The goal of the 2012 StraSS Alliance symposium is to discuss the present and future situation of sustainability sciences and education.

Sessions

Three distinct sessions will provide ample opportunity for stimulating conversations on the challenges impeding sustainability sciences and education for a sustainable society. We welcome presentations from all universities, related to these fields:

Session1: StraSS program (presentation, partners and achievement)

Session 2: Sustainability education; case study in Asia and Africa

Session 3: Sustainability science: a focus on energy, water, agriculture and eco-materials

Practical Information Venue The Symposium will be held at “Salle Raibaud”, 2iE Ouagadougou Conference Language English will be the official language of the workshop and translation service will not be available.
