At this point, you are pretty much done. You’re finishing up your finals, not that they make a big difference anymore. There’s no more registering for classes

on Albert. There’s no more panicking when your NYUCard isn’t in your pocket or your bag.

But, at the same time, there’s no more walking through Washington Square Park, our makeshift quad, to get to class. There are no more Hayden cookies, no

more Ultra Violet Live and, depending on where you go from here, there may not be random people singing or dancing in the street as you walk by.

You have stories you can tell now, whether you are telling them to coworkers, family members or old college friends you’re reconnecting with. Other graduating students may tell you stories from various football games they went to, but you will tell New York stories. A New York story isn’t flowery or sweet, but it’s always interesting. Chances are, you have picked up your share of New York stories

over the past four years.

You may have picked up a New York story about surviving Hurricane Irene or Hurricane Sandy. You may have a New York story about a celebrity you randomly ran into. Or a New York story involving Occupy Wall Street, regardless of whether you were involved in the protests. New York always makes for the best stories.

And, just in case you have a New York story you are trying to recall, one that is stuck on the tip of your tongue, you may find it here in this special issue of the Washington Square News. Whether day or night, pouring rain, falling snow or blinding sunlight, something is always happening at NYU and in New York, so take this as a guidebook to remember what happened while you were here.

And of course, no matter what you do next, never stop picking up stories to tell.
