White Horse Park Times 1 White Horse Park Times MARCH 2016 HAPPY ST PATRICK’S DAY ! & HAPPY EASTER ! $ PRICELESS Property Managers Monthly News Not a lot to report yet. I have been the Manager for my first full month and I continue to learn more about the Park each and every day. (I no longer get lost during my drive through which is quite an accomplishment). I have met some of the residents and am looking forward to meeting the rest of the residents. (Don't quiz me yet on names and faces, just pick on me a little and I will remember you faster). Bathhouse one has really shaped up. I think most will be pleasantly surprised when you see it. I am still getting bids for the new roof for bathhouse two. I expect to get one this week from a company that I have known for many years, and another one sometime in the middle of March so I will have at least four bids before the next board meeting. I have contacted several marina contractors and they have copies of the permits. It doesn't look as though the work will be done this year. We are just too close to the April 1 cut off for dredging to start. The maintenance guys have been making great progress addressing the many projects throughout the park and they will continue to strive to make WHP an exceptional place to live and visit. Winter is winding down and we have weathered rather well, with only minor damages to some of the homes. April is just around the corner, and for most the beginning of another fun season of fishing, swimming and enjoying the many activities planned. Bob Harbaugh May the luck of the Irish be with you And May Spring be Sprung!!! Elections: One Opening on the Board of Directors The Board of Directors has one, three year, opening coming vacant this June. Georgine DeBord’s time on the board of directors is coming to an end. If anyone is interested in running for a position on the board please mail or email the WHP office a short resume. It should be one page in length and include a picture of yourself (in jpeg or gif format). Your resume should contain information about yourself, why you would like to run for the Board of Directors and what you hope to accomplish in your three year term. Please add a phone number or email address so the BOD can contact you regarding any questions or concerns. All resumes must reach the office no later than May 11 th , 2016 by 3pm. The nominated members will be speaking at the May21st, 2016 BOD meeting. Members will want to know “Why should I vote for you” and “What will you bring to WHP?” Volunteers would be appreciated to help with mail outs in the office for the upcoming election. Please contact Janice or Rebecca for details.

SOMEONE

Hello Members! March is a good month, on the 13th the time will change, on the 17th everyone can be Irish and on the 20th we will welcome spring 2016. We are looking forward to another season at the Park and preparing the Park for the return of members. We had a beautiful day on February 20th for the meeting with temps in the 60s. Thanks to all who turned out for the meeting. We had discussion on several issues. There was a vote to establish the fees for the boatyard and made boat and trailer sticker fees at $50.00 and for non-motorized vessels, ie kayaks, canoes at $35.00 for sticker. We also established the maximum length for boats at 25 ft. and 81/2 ft. wide. There are a couple boats now over that size but if they are replaced they must be within the new limit. We are asking members to not put padlocks on their hydrants and pedestal boxes, Bob, our property manager has sent out our bid for dredging to additional venders and we should be receiving some new bids from them. The work on the camera system should be getting underway by the time you receive this newsletter. We are anticipating installing water heaters in bathhouse #1 and clubhouse in March and roof on bathhouse #2 in April. Our Projects for the 16/17 year are Roof on bathhouse #2, dredging at the Marina(the entire area), gravel for the boatyard and plenty of it, and establish a jet ski area at the marina. The Board is pleased to be able to to keep improvement projects for the park moving forward. We will be posting the schedule of events at the clubhouse and look forward to an enjoyable season. If you would like to volunteer to help on any of the events we would welcome your participation. As you can see from the schedule we have planned on several additional Ice Cream Socials, they are very popular. The pool will have extended hours on Friday and Saturday evenings again this year many members used these hours last season. The next meeting of the Board will be on March 19th and that is also the day of the first clubhouse event of the year, the St. Patrick's Day dinner, corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and soda bread will be on the menu and IT IS DELICIOUS. Tickets will be for sale in advance, no ticket sales at the door. I hope to see you there. If you want to get in touch with me you can contact the office, send me an email [email protected], or by mail at box #41. Thanks Pat

MARINA UPDATE New boat stickers are in, and now cost $50.00. These must be affixed to your boat and/or trailer before June 1st. If you cannot get here before June 1st, send your payment in and someone here will put the sticker on for you.

If you are getting a slip and/or stickers, we must have your updated registration and insurance information.

We're hoping to get two more loads of stone for the boat yard before the spring, to try to keep the mud at bay. During the summer, when it is easier to move trailers, we are hoping to get more stone to put under the boats.

We also are considering putting in a Jet Ski area at the marina. All marina slip holders…..remember slip payments must be in by April 1, 2016. If you have not contacted the office about keeping your boat slip, please do so asap.
