They’re both me!

My love of popcorn began while taking regular trips to the USA, each time returning with more and more gourmet popcorn as gifts for

friends and family. I’d always thought myself an enthusiastic amateur Chef and wondered if I could make my own popcorn and in some way

improve on what I had tried. I began by air popping the corn and

coating it in a smooth caramel made from fresh butter rather than what was the standard British way of popping it in an oil

and sugar mix.

Exploring it further, I discovered that this new secret recipe could be infused with natural ingredients which are locked

in at different stages of the cooking process

so that they are released at different intervals as you eat them.I also found a way of coating the popcorn in real cheese

to create savoury options too. I realised there was nothing quite like this in the UK, so in 2010, after many burnt pans

and numerous tasting sessions in my kitchen, Joe & Seph’s Popcorn was born.

Armed with 6 flavours of popcorn, my wife, eldest son and I turned up at a food show in November 2010 and sold outin under 2 days. In April 2011, we achieved our first retail

listing and haven’t looked back since!
