Who ILA will fund
To be eligible for funding, applicants must:
• be one of the following entity types:• an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under theCorporations (Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006
• an organisation established through specific Commonwealth or State orTerritory legislation
• a company incorporated in Australia• a company limited by guarantee• an incorporated association• a not-for-profit organisation• a partnership• a joint (consortium) application with a lead organisation• a publicly funded research organisation• an Australian state, territory or local government body
• have an Australian Business Number (ABN)• be registered for the purposes of Goods and Services Tax (GST), if required by theAustralian Taxation Office
• have an account with an Australian financial institution• have no overdue acquittals or serious breaches relating to Australian Governmentfunding (a serious breach is one that has resulted in, or warrants, the termination of agrant agreement)
• not be bankrupt or subject to insolvency proceedings (as relevant to the entity type)
Entities that do not meet the eligibility requirements are able to apply through an eligibleauspicing body that meets the above criteria.
The following entities are not eligible for ILA funding:
• a Commonwealth, state or territory portfolio agency (including government businessenterprise) established through specific Commonwealth or State or Territory legislation –further information is available on the Department of Finance website
• an individual and/or sole trader• unincorporated association without an eligible auspicing body• overseas resident/organisation

Project Timeframe
• Please note that funding agreements are generally executed with successful fundingrecipients by late July. Please take this into account when selecting your start date.
• You must not commence your project until you have entered into a funding agreementwith us.
• Also note that projects can run for a maximum of two years and should end by 30 Juneof the relevant financial year.

ILA Funding
You can apply for up to $100,000 (GST Exclusive) per project, per year for amaximum of two years. If you are registered for GST we will add the GST payable on thepayment of the grant.Applications for grant funding must fall within one of the following parameters:
• a project period for up to 12 months and up to a maximum of $100,000 per project.It is anticipated that most grants will be between $20,000-$80,000 depending on thescope of the grant activity and its complexity.
• a project period for up to 24 months and up to a maximum of $200,000 per project. It isanticipated that most grants will be between $80,000-$150,000 depending on the scopeof the grant activity and its complexity.
IMPORTANT
• This application is for projects commencing in the 2020-21 financial year.• The ILA program strongly encourages applications for smaller community-basedprojects that may only require a modest amount of funding to undertake the activity.
