These are the photos I chose out of the photo-shoot with my main star.

I chose this picture for the main image on the front cover. I liked this one because it was well lit, and it had good focus. Also, it was a mid shot as I had originally planned in my preparation work. It is also a straight on shot, which establishes who she is, making her easily recognizable. The background is quite plain, and wouldn’t distract the audience from any of the other features, and at the same time writing can still show up. However, I will probably edit the background out anyway. Although this picture doesn’t instantly establish that it is a music magazine, I think that it is a suitable picture to put on the front cover.

This picture is going to be one of the images in my double page spread. I like it because the iPod headphones which are in the picture link into the music genre, but they modernize the magazine, making it seem more recent. This could also be shown to revive the classical music genre, making it seem more modern and more for a younger audience as well as older people. I also think that the lighting is very good, and the picture would also look good if it were to be cut out of the background.

This is probably my favourite shot from the whole of the photoshoot. I really like all of the different colours in the picture, which are created by the light coming in from behind my model and hitting the lens. The only problem with this is the yellow patch which has appeared in the bottom left corner, which could create problems if I were to cut out the picture from the background and the yellow patch remained.

This is also going to be used in my double page spread. It is an over the shoulder shot, taken why my model writes her ‘newest song’. I quite like this picture because it is quite an unusual viewpoint, but I think that it links in nicely to the musical genre. It also carries on the theme of being quite serene and calm.
