TABLE BAY, CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICAPETRA, JORDAN

ENHANCE AND EXTEND YOUR VOYAGE with our optional shore excursions and pre- or post-cruise Seabourn Journeys. Here is a sampling of some of our favorites.

PETRA: HIDDEN TREASURE OF THE ANCIENT WORLD: A UNESCO PARTNER TOUR Port: Aqaba (Petra), JordanEn route from Aqaba to Petra, an expert lecturer illuminates the history and culture of the site. Lost to the outside world for centuries, Petra is a spectacular ancient city carved out of solid rose-hued sandstone by the Nabataeans. Walk the narrow, mile-long siq between sheer stone walls, to emerge before the immense, carved façade of the Treasury, and survey Petra’s other carved buildings, tombs, baths, funerary halls, temples, arches, and colonnaded streets.

A STROLL THROUGH JAFFA & TEL AVIV HIGHLIGHTS: A UNESCO PARTNER TOUR Port: Ashdod (Jerusalem), IsraelAncient Old Jaffa was once the only entry port to Israel. Today it is surrounded by the modern city of Tel Aviv. Walk Jaffa’s cobblestone alleys to the Jaffa Tales Visitor Center for a multi-media presentation of its legends and history. Then relax on a drive through the 1930s Bauhaus “White City” World Heritage site, and enjoy some time at your leisure on the lively Tel Aviv Sea Promenade.

HELICOPTER & WINE Port: Cape Town, South AfricaThis scenic flight takes you across Table Bay to the wine valley of Durbanville, one of the smallest wine regions in South Africa. Here, you will touch down at one of its finest wine estates, De Grendel. Few places on earth offer such a spectacular setting.

QATAR’S HISTORY: A UNESCO PARTNER TOUR Port: Doha, QatarEnjoy this spectacular tour through Qatar’s history and culture. The UNESCO World Heritage site of Al Zubarah town and fort awaits you an hour north of Doha. The walled coastal town, founded by merchants from Kuwait, was a thriving pearl-fishing and trading port in the late 18th century and early 19th centuries. Now, it’s Qatar’s largest World Heritage site.

SEAPLANE FLIGHT & KANDY HIGHLIGHTS Port: Colombo, Sri LankaFly in a seaplane from Colombo to charming Kandy, nestled in a valley between mountains and dense jungle. Visit the Temple of the Tooth, housing a precious relic of the Buddha in a golden reliquary, constantly revered with hypnotic chanted prayers by local monks. Also visit the Royal Botanic Garden, containing a spice garden with centuries-old nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom and clove trees, an herb garden of Ayurvedic medicinal plants, and 450 hybrid orchid species.

SEABOURN JOURNEY — UNESCO INDIA’S GOLDEN TRIANGLE: THE TAJ MAHAL & JAIPURIndia is filled with many wonders, none so famous as the white marble mausoleum of the Taj Mahal. View it at dawn and sunset, marvel at the forts and palaces of the Pink City of Jaipur, take an elephant safari, a cycle rickshaw tour, and experience all the color and pageantry of Old and New Delhi in Seabourn style, during this unforgettable six-day pre- or post-cruise Journey.

SEABOURN JOURNEY — SOUTH AFRICA: CAPE TOWN & KRUGER PARK SAFARI LODGEThis luxurious seven-day pre-cruise or six-day post-cruise Journey explores the highlights of South Africa’s scenic Cape wine-and-gardens region.
