District Wide Furniture ProcurementProject Cost: $5.7 Million
• District-wide classroom furniture initiative with following goals:
– Create leading-edge classroom spaces
– Provide consistent classroom teaching spaces throughout the 7 campuses
– More efficient design, purchase, and maintenance process
– Achieve the standards and trends consistent with other leading edge institutions
– Universal design/ furnishings to meet the needs of our varied student body
– Provide designs that are unique to the specific requirements of each campus

The NetTec AAS program teaches students to design, deploy and manage wired and wireless technologies, including local area networks, wide area networks, the Internet, intranets and other data communications systems.

The IT Web Dev AS/AAS programs teaches students to design, build and maintain websites as well as web content. The AAS degree prepares graduates for entry-level positions and the AS degree a transfer to four-year institution.

• There were over 68,000 job openings in the IT industry in Chicago last year
• 79% of all IT jobs were in Computer Science, Networking and Web Development, the largest areas of job opportunities

The CS AS degree is designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year institution and eventual careers in the fields such as programming, systems analysis, or computer research.

• Led by CCC IT faculty (across district)
• All courses have been reviewed by Local Faculty Councils
• Currently waiting for VP approval to submit to District Committee A.
• PAC review of coursed expected to be complete by end of March and submitted to
ICCB by April.
Next Steps
• Preparing for PAC review of AAS programs. Expected to be complete by end of April and
submitted to ICCB by May. Application for PAC and ICCB review will be submitted for all
colleges so that programs can be approved for all colleges.
• Wright administration meeting with 4 year institutions to begin articulation discussions.

• 1,600 students are currently in the program across five schools and two grades.
• More than 60 ECSS students from Sara Goode (Daley) have already taking college courses at CCC.
• In SU14, approximately 300 students are expected to take courses at CCC and in the FA14, approximately 500 students
• Completed 10 information sessions on the ECSS program
� Student Information Session: presented jointly by CPS, CCC and corporate partners to provide student exposure to careers in IT.
� Advisor Information Session: provided CPS advisors, teachers and program managers overview of IT pathways so that they can advise students on classes and program selection decisions.
� College Information Sessions: provided CCC Colleges update on program, students and curriculum as they prepare to receive students in Summer and Fall 2014.

HPVEC Enrollment and Demographics• 1,300 students per semester
• Demographics :
– 68% Latino; (34% Mexican American/Chicano 15% Puerto Rican, 20% other Spanish-speaking)
– 14% African-American
– 64% are over the age of 25
– 69% are women
– 59% are enrolled as part-time students
– 71% attend classes only at HPVEC
– 25% attend classes at both HPVEC and the main campus
– 18% intend to complete a certificate program
– 20% intend to obtain an Associate Degree
– 26% intend to transfer to a 4-year institution
– 36% work full-time
– 23% work part-time
– 30.0% are not employed
Humboldt Park Expansion Project Budget: $5.25 million• Proposed expansion would add 6-7 classrooms, additional staff and faculty office space, and student collaboration/ lounge space on every floor
• Allow the College to offer more classes that meet the needs of the community.
