WANTED
Recruitment Numbers
WHY do we want to target professionals who have been in real estate for a while?
Less time in real estate = Less likely to renew membership
Out of members dropped by March 31st this year40% in business less than 3 years
As of July 10, 2012 – 2,500 new members 50% of these members are not likely to renew next year
WE NEED: Mid-career professionals who are established and Mid-career professionals who are established and looking to take their business to the next level.looking to take their business to the next level.
Sample Chapter
• Small Board of REALTORS® • 50 Women’s Council National Members• 45% over the age of 55• Chapter celebrating 15th year• Membership Goal = 60 Total• Need to achieve Gold Level Status on Annual Report
Chapter with 50 members in 2012
and only a 60% Renewal rate
~ Retains 30 members
But, Loses 20 members
Membership Goal ~ gain 20% over last year
To get to 60 total members they would have to Recruit 30 new members BUT
But, if they Retained 90% . . . Recruit only 15

How Recruitment and Retention Affects Membership Goals
• Power of Relationships: Touch the member as often as possible. Our Line Officers and Committee Chairs try to chat with as many members as possible at each BRM as well as each Membership Mixer and Fund-Raising event.
• Send “Welcome Letter” to new members.
• Send “Thank You Letters” throughout the year for any involvement the member had on a committee, attending an event, attending BRM.
• Acknowledge any member’s achievement(s) at your BRM; i.e. Designations, Community Involvement, Awards, Elected Offices (local board or committee, State board or committee, National board or committee, City or County, etc.)
• Spotlight the member’s achievement on your Chapter Facebook Page
• Spotlight the member’s achievement in your Quarterly or Monthly Newsletter.
• Offer “free” or “low-cost” CE courses to membership. We did both a PMN course and CE course totaling 15-hours while on a Chapter “fund-raising” 7-day Cruise. There was NO CHARGE for these classes.
• Send occasion cards, i.e.: Birthday, Get Well, Condolences, etc.
• Send “Congratulations Letter” for any awards, recognition, etc.
• Make sure your Business Resource Meetings have Value – interesting educational topics and/or motivational speakers.
• Make your “fund-raisers” fun!
• Review “Not Yet Renewed Report” Weekly and Share with Everyone.
• Make It Easy for Them.
• Use DocuSign to Send Membership Renewal To Members.
