• The management of wildlife in the United States is often complicated

• Laws are generally created at a federal level and then implemented by a variety of federal and state government agencies– Ecosystems and wildlife habitats are not defined

by state boundaries, so states often work with neighboring states on management or recovery plans, usually under Federal guidance

As you can see, wildlife populations do not stay within state lines – it sometimes takes multiple states to manage a single species.
