EARLY LIFE.William McKinley was

born on January 9th ,

1843, in Niles, Ohio.

.William was the

seventh of nine

children.

.In 1852 William’s

family moved to

Portland, Ohio.

LIFE BEFORE

PRESIDENT

.William McKinley was elected

to the House of Representatives

and served two terms.

.In 1892 McKinley was elected as

Governor of Ohio. He was the

Governor of Ohio until 1896.

.William attended college for a few months and then fought in the American Civil War in 1861 – 1865. After William fought in the war he went back to school to study law.

.A few years later William McKinley married Ida Saxton. They both had two children. The two children both died shortly after they were born.

BEING PRESIDENT

. William McKinley was the 25th president

William McKinley was one of the most popular presidents .

McKinley was a Republican.

William McKinley served one term. William started a

second term but, unfortunately he was shot and killed.

William McKinley was assassinated.

LATER YEARS

Mount McKinley was named after William McKinley.

Death Date: September 14th, 1901

Theodore Roosevelt was William McKinley’s vice

president, so he took over president.

William McKinley had 1 parrot that could whistle

His Portrait was on a $500.00 bill.

William was the last president in the civil war.

Was the third president to be assassinated.
