ROAD 2 HOPE (EDUDEO) Fundraiser Run– Wednesday, October 17th, 2018
Once again, we are raising funds for EduDeo Ministries.
The students raise money by having people sponsor them. They were given pledge forms and an
envelope for money. Sponsors can choose to give money up front (before the event) or
afterwards. We have set a goal of $3000.00 for our school. That works out to about $50.00 per
student (K-7). Children are encouraged to ask anyone they know to be their sponsor…. parents,
grandparents, uncles, aunts, neighbours (with adult accompaniment), music teachers, coaches,
teachers, friends, older siblings, and so on.
This year we will once again be doing the run at Surrey Bend Park.
A big thank you to all those who have already volunteered to help out and/or drive the students!
We are still in urgent need of some volunteers who are willing and able to be spotters along the
route. Spotters will encourage students, ensure student safety, and point the way. Please
encourage your parents, in-laws, out-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, dog walkers, and anyone else
you know who may be able, to help out.
An email with times, map, and further details will be emailed out to all volunteers early next
week. Any questions, please contact Marg ([email protected]).
STUDENT VOTE 2018
Coinciding with government elections, students learn about government and the electoral
process, research the parties and platforms, discuss relevant issues and cast ballots for the
official election candidates. The results are shared with the media for broadcast and publication
following the closing of the official polls. Students in grades 4-7 at WofO will be taking part in
student vote 2018 on Friday, October19th.

schools’ cross-country meet on Thursday, October 25th at Bear Creek Park (88th Avenue and King George
