AGC has partnered with numerous industry groups to accomplish this mission and actively participates in regulatory construction safety and health activities through partnerships, alliances and member appointments to federal agencies and consensus standard committees.

RECOGNIZING AGC PARTNERS IN SAFETY

AGC/OSHA PARTNERSHIPS—PARTNERSHIPS SAVE TIME, MONEY, AND LIVESAGC actively strengthens the relationship with the Department of Labor (DOL) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) by participating in the Roadway Work Zone Safety and Health Alliance. As partners, AGC works to educate and provide resources on roadway safety. These resources will help protect employees, including Spanish-speaking and other high-risk or “hard-to-reach” workers, from both roadway and general health and safety hazards.

AGC currently has representation on OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH), which advises OSHA on policies and practices that affect construction workers on jobsites and protect them from hazards. AGC continues to participate on the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A-10 Accredited Standards Committee on Safety in Construction and Demolition Operations and the A-14 Committee on Ladder Safety. AGC, the Army Corps of Engineers and the Dredging Contractors of America founded the Council for Dredging and Marine Construction Safety.
