Our services range from structural analysis and design advice for one-off solutions to checking of bespoke structures. Our engineers have specialist knowledge of trussing, staging and temporary structures utilising both aluminium and steel. We provide a tailored service to meet your requirements and deadlines. Types of Structures Our experience extends across a very broad range of event and temporary demountable structures including: Standard truss systems – Safe load capacity vs
span checks for off the shelf truss systems. Specialist structures - One-off structures,
bespoke component capacity checks (e.g. LED lighting frames)
Stage frames - Traditional event stages, classic ‘dome’ (Orbit) systems, large span event roof systems, mobile and hybrid stages, modular staging and decking.
Scaffold - Bridges, set support frames, stage support structures
Event Engineering
Overlay Structures - Towers and Masts to support PA and film/site lighting, LED screen goalposts, ground support frames and ‘front of house’ structures.
Site Structures – Pedestrian access bridges, towers for security/signage and entrance arches/gantries and security/perimeter fencing, grandstands and seating.
Structural Aluminium Our engineers understand the versatility and usefulness of Aluminium as a structural material. We have developed our own suite of specialist design aides based on many years of design work with this material. Our expertise extends to the use of British, European and American design standards.

Analysis and Design For a typical event structure it is accurately modelled using our 3-dimensionally frame analysis software. The structure is analysed for all self-weight, wind, lighting, PA and client specified imposed load combinations.
Structural code compliance to appropriate Eurocodes and standards of the structure are undertaken to confirm adequacy of all elements. This typically includes checks to BS EN 1999 (Aluminium), BS EN 1993: (Steel) and compliance with CWA 15902-02 (Lifting and load-bearing equipment for stages). Following satisfactory checks of the frame we prepare a report which includes relevant calculations and analysis, together with recommendations on load/use
limitations and support/ballast requirements. The format of the report is acceptable to building control and checking authorities. Inspections and Reports Tailored services for event structures ‘insitu’ may include: Checking of installed structures to
confirm compliance with the design.
Specification and witness full scale testing of products.
Verification that a system meets requirements of the IStructE ‘Temporary Demountable Structures’.
Assessment of allowable wind speed that can be resisted and advice on suitable action levels for risk assessments.
Ballast/support requirements for local operating conditions.
