TRANSITIVE PHRASAL VERBS:These phrasal verbs take object nouns.Most transitive phrasal verbs are separable:Noun objects can go: after the particle (verb + particle + object)orThey tore down the entrance. between the verb and particle (verb + object + particle) They tore the entrance downEXCEPTION: If the direct object is a pronoun, it must go between the verb and particle: The student didnt know a word, so he looked it up in the dictionary.Note: In a long sentence, a phrasal verb is usually not separated.INTRANSITIVE PHRASAL VER: BSDO NOT TAKE AN OBJECTALWAYS INSEPARAB LE (NOT SEPARABLE):
