Bring an Aggie-themed ornament and join us for the Northwest Harris County Aggie Mom’s Club Annual Aggie Ornament Exchange on Tuesday, December 09, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Houston Distributing Company, 7100 High Life Drive, conveniently located near Willowbrook Mall at the intersection of High Life Drive and Cutten Road.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONThe Northwest Harris County Aggie Mom’s Club raises money

throughout the year to fund scholarships to students from our area. Last year, we awarded 15 scholarships to Aggie students from our local community and donated over $34,000 to a variety of Texas A&M student organizations. Eligible students should download the scholarship application form at www.nwhcaggiemoms.org.

Plans for a spectacular first annual Jingle Bell Rock Christmas Party are well under way! A Volunteer army under the direction of Berni Horan, Liberty Mutual Lead Sales Representative, Ambassador for the Houston CyFair Chamber of Commerce and member of Cy Fair Women’s Network have been recruiting, collecting and signing up individuals and companies to help with this undertaking. The event which will feature music by the Amazing Duane Vincent, a visit from Elvis and the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus! Plans for the evening include cookie decorating, lots of dancing and gifts for each of the Reach Unlimited clients. Berni invites you and your business to join in the fun to help make this the BEST Christmas Party ever for the clients at Reach. You can reach her at [email protected]. There are still needs for additional refreshments, small gift items or gift cards so that everyone will receive a gfit and volunteers. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10 from 6PM to 8PM at Langham Creek YMCA.

Reach Unlimited provides quality services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a day program and residential services. Reach serves 300 clients through programs that provide training and support for jobs in the community, a safe and stimulating learning day program as well as 19 family group homes in the northwest area.

The club invites all interested players from ages U9 to U12 to the Player Evaluations, 12/8 and 12/10 at 5:00 to 6:30 at the Schiel Road Complex location, to become part of AHFC's success.

The Northwest Flyers Youth Track Club will celebrate its 28th Anniversary Season by hosting its annual free Registration/Orientation breakfast on Saturday, February 7th, 2015, for all boys and girls who are interested in joining for the 2015 track season. The breakfast starts promptly at 8:30 AM at the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center Forum located at 6823 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX, 77379.

The free breakfast is the opportunity for youth athletes to register for the 2015 spring/summer track season, and to meet the Northwest Flyers coaches, staff, and other new and returning athletes. The event will be highlighted by a special presentation from a member of the USA Track & Field Olympic organization (USATF). All athletes and parents who wish to join the Northwest Flyers must attend the orientation.

The Northwest Flyers Track Club is a youth (ages 6 -18) track club, affiliated with USA Track & Field (USATF), that provides a full program of sanctioned “track” events such as sprints, hurdles, middle distance, distance and relays, and sanctioned “field” events such as long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus and javelin. The Northwest Flyers has approximately 285 members. The club was founded 28 years ago by Olympic gold medalist Fred Newhouse to foster the development of youth track & field in the Northwest Houston area.

The Northwest Flyers is a member of the “Win with Integrity” program, a partnership between USATF and the American College of Sports Medicine. “Win with Integrity” brings elite track & field athletes and school-aged kids together to promote healthy lifestyles, keeping active, and living with integrity through the sport of track & field.

Come to the Cy-Fair Express Network (CYFEN) luncheon Dec.18 for member appreciation and to learn more about a local charity organization.

This meeting will celebrate the completion of the ‘debt free’ home built for a well deserving wounded warrior and his family in Cypress, TX. RE/MAX Realty Center partnered with the Texas Sentinels Foundation to make this a reality for a local veteran and his family. With the completion of this home near Christmas the family is in need of many items to make this new start. Needed items are listed on the Cyfen.org website. Donations will be collected a the December luncheon.

In addition, there will be a member gift exchange. Bring a wrapped new gift or gift card valued at $25 to participate. All are welcome to attend the monthly meetings of CYFEN at the Sterling Country Club, 16500 Houston National Blvd.

This month’s meeting begins with networking at 11 a.m. followed with a prompt 11:30 a.m. start of the program. Bring plenty of business cards for networking. The meeting cost is $25 with advanced reservations made by the Thursday prior to the meeting and $30 at the door.
