1. Run VFE V2.03 GTM Setup.exe (double-click to launch)

6. Confirm or change the installation location and click <Next> to continue (we recommend that you install to the default installation location, when possible:

NOTE: During the installation process (on some older versions of Windows), you may see a Software Installation window pop-up several times (see below). Click <Continue Anyway> to proceed with the installation. This warning will not affect the setup of the application suite.

This installer creates a Desktop folder. Upon successful installation, one folder – VistA_Apps – will be added to your desktop. Ensure that this folder appears on your desktop:

PROCEDURES FOR RUNNING VistA AND RELATED PROGRAMS ON YOUR COMPUTER

1. Double-click the VistA_Apps folder to open it:

The VistA_Apps folder contains 9 shortcuts as shown below:

2. Click <Start VFE Virtual Machine>; right-click; select <Run as Administrator>:

Note: You must run this program in Administrator mode the first time. You may run it as a non-admin afterwards.

5. Once VirtualBox sets up the Virtual Machine, this window appears:

6. Once the Virtual Machine is up and running, click the VistA Terminal shortcut. The screen below may appear when VistA Terminal is accessed for the first time. Click <Yes> to continue.

7. Login to the Vista Terminal using the Access and Verify codes provided at the end of this document:

8. Once the Virtual Machine is up and running, you may also click the CPRS Chart shortcut in the VistA_Apps folder to start CPRS. Login to the CPRS Chart using the Access and Verify codes provided at the end of this document:

9. Once you are finished with your lab session(s), click the Stop VFE Virtual Machine shortcut in your VistA_Apps folder.

Note: If you run Stop VFE Virtual Machine as a non-admin user, you must run this program in Administrator mode for the first time.

A. Access / Verify Codes

To log into VistA CPRS Chart use the following access and verify codes for specific users.

Note the period (.) as the last character in the verify codes.

Multiple incremented versions of these login types exist (e.g. doctor2 with a verify code of "doctor2.") from 1 through 40.

To log onto CPRS and Vista Terminal as a Nurse:

Access code: NURSE01

Verify code: NURSE01.To log onto CPRS and Vista Terminal as a Doctor:

Access code: DOCTOR1

Verify code: DOCTOR1.

To log onto CPRS and Vista Terminal as a Pharmacist:

Access code: PHARMACIST1

Verify code: PHARMACIST1.To log onto CPRS and Vista Terminal as a Clinical Coordinator:

Access code: CLINCOORD1

B. User classes (USR)

User Classes have been primarily preconfigured as such:

NURSE: Clinical Coordinator, Nurse, Provider

CLERK: Clinical Coordinator

DOCTOR: Provider, Clinical Coordinator, Interdisciplinary User

PHARMACIST: Clinical Coordinator, Provider

CLINICAL COORDINATOR: Clinical Coordinator, Provider

C. Electronic Signature Codes

Multiple incremented versions of these codes are preconfigured from 1 through 40.

NOTE: Electronic signature codes must be ALL UPPERCASE. ( ie. user=doctor2, e-sig=DOCTOR2)
