THE RIGHT LIGHT, CONTROLLEDBy replacing the halogen lamps with LED lamps, the wine bar now has better lighting. There are no more spotlights creating bubbles around the wine racks, and each lamp on every track can be adjusted easily.

Bethesda Systems’ sales people Tracy Lowe and Andy Cabrera were able to implement lighting design for the winery owner immediately after installing the new LEDs into the track lights.

New lighting dimmers for their track lighting will provide ambient lighting for nighttime wine-tastings, and help the winery to save more money from lighting settings during the warmer seasons.

Over the summertime, the wall-sized glass windows will bring in optimal sunlight, meaning even more heat. New LEDs will lower energy bills for the wine bar because less heat will be given off from inefficient lighting. Since less heat will be emitted, HVAC costs will go down, consistently saving the wine bar at least $1,100 per year on energy and maintenance costs.

“Before we replaced their bulbs with the LEDs, I took a measurement of how much

energy was being used to power one of the circuits. Before, it was eating 1,800

watts. With the LEDs in, it ’s only consuming 300 watts.”

F R O M T H E O W N E R“While, any savings on our util ity bil ls

would have been great, I’m very excited to be able to create ambient lighting. Without the dimmers, the lights were either all on,

or all off. Now I can control how the lighting sets the scene in the bar.”

F R O M T H E O W N E R“I used to receive complaints from customers about how poor my lighting was. Since the retrofit, I’ve received praise for the upgrade.”

F R O M T H E O W N E R“Tracy and I took a look at the place from outside. It looks completely different. The

winery looks so much more sophisticated.”
