WinIso 2DThe software to calculate two-
dimensional heat flow rates
First steps
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
2
Starter
v.201601
every task can get opened via the starter of WinIso 2D
open the task DXF.NET to convert a CAD drawing
www.sommer-informatik.de
3
CAD-Conversion
the CAD-file can get loaded out of a directory at File Open
all steps of the macro get executed, and so the drawing automatically purged, by clicking on
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
4
Editing the purged drawing
by clicking on , the polygons get determined
material get selected at the upper drop-down menu
marked areas get filled with the selected material by clicking on
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
5
Filling areas and export
with the other buttons of the toolbar, enclosed air can get determined, polygons can get filled with random material or inside- and outside air can get set automatically
after all areas are filled with material, the file get exported to WinIso by clicking on
v.201601

6
WinIso 2D Editor
v.201601
by doing this, the edited drawing get opened automatically at the WinIso 2D Editor
here, the construction can get analyzed directly or edited further
www.sommer-informatik.de
7
Add material
a plurality of deposited materials according to valid European norms are located at Material Material database
these materials can get added to the project easily via double click
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
8
Fill material
a material has to get selected at the drop-down menu before to fill it into an area
by clicking on , the material get filled into the marked area
here, a standard gas get filled into the interspace between the panes, to improve the U-value of the window

9
Automatically split a higher number of columns and rows follows a more accurate calculation of the construction
therefore, WinIsooffers the function automatically split
the more cells get created by splitting, the much longer the program takes to calculate
v.201601

10
Start calculation
the calculation with random temperatures starts by clicking on
afterwards different displays can be viewed
v.201601

11
Isotherms Isotherms are curves of the same temperature
a good isotherm characteristic is a quality feature for a good construction element
the most valuable isotherms, like the 13°C isotherm, get distinguished in terms of color
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
12
Range of isotherms
the range of values of the isotherm can get adjusted with
a finer range is helpful, to find the coldest position of the construction afterwards (important for example to calculate the fRsi-factor)
v.201601

13
Temperature fields
Additionally, the display of the temperature fields make sure that a graphical rework is available
v.201601

14
Heat flow fields
Heat flow fields show, where the room for improvement of the construction element in reference to the heat transfer is

15
U-value the U-value is a rate, how much heat per unit area get lost through a construction element
due tu WinIso2D an extensive calculation per hand gets omitted
the U-value can get displayed by clicking on
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
16
fRsi-value
the fRsi-value provides the requirement for avoiding the mould growth according to DIN 4108-2
it gets measured where the lowest interior surface temperature of the wall or the frame is
the fRsi-value can get displayed by clicking on
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
17
Uf-value – Step 1
the Uf-value is the U-value of the frame and gets calculated according to EN ISO 10077-2
for determining this value manually, the glass has to get replaced by a calibrating paneeland the U-value of the paneel has to get determined
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
18
Uf-value – Step 2
after selecting a cell to the right of the projected end of the profile, a mask for calculating opens by clicking on
the position of the profile get defined at Calculation of (here on the left)
v.201601
the prior to this determined U-value for the panel gets adopted by clicking on Apply
after calculating, the Uf-value of the profile gets displayed
www.sommer-informatik.de
19
Psi-value – Step 1
the Psi-value calculation assumes an Uf-value calculation
though it has to get calculated with the real glazing
the area between the panes get filled with 10077-air and afterwards replaced by a solid at Tools
here the known Ug-value get entered
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
20
Psi-value – Step 2
after selecting a cell to the right of the projected end of the profile, a mask for calculating opens by clicking on
at Calculation of, the Uf-Value of the profile and the U-value of the panel get entered
v.201601
the U-value of the panel can get determined as shown before and adopted by clicking on Apply
after calculating, the Psi-value of the profile gets displayed
www.sommer-informatik.de
21
Uf- und Psi-Automatically
both Uf- and Psi-value calculation can be done completely automated
to this, it has to be clicked on respectively
the dimensions can get checked and, if necessary, adjusted
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
22
Uw-value
at 10077 Uw (EN 10077-1) the determined values can get used to calculate the Uw-value
all values has to get entered manually
the length of the glass edge gets calculated automatically out of the entered dimensions
after Calculating, the Uw-Value get displayed
v.201601
www.sommer-informatik.de
23
Printout
at File Export different possibilities can be found to save and export the result
here an example of the word printout
