National Recycling Week 11th – 17th Nov This year Winters Flat Primary school had lots of fun celebrating National Recycling Week. On Monday morning at assembly 5/6C kicked off the week by having a competition about needs and wants; carefully looking at how we live. One of the products made was a Recycling Machine that could recycle everything! This was a real hit with the audience and judges. We also had a visit from Jay Smith the Environment Education Officer at Mount Alexander Shire Council who talked about the importance of recycling and putting our waste into the correct bins. Some classes had lots of fun making things out of recycled goods. They made Franken Creatures, a Kid’s City, beautiful dresses and a candle stick holder. Other classes looked at and completed activities from CoolAustralia and PlanetArk web pages.
