Winter 2017 A publication of the Abel Pregnancy Resource Center: A place of hope for those making pregnancy decisions This year, your support has allowed us to: serve 151 unique patients/clients with a total of 382 visits to the center for services; perform 58 pregnancy tests and 75 ul- trasounds; provide lay counseling and/or medical services to 10 abortion-vulnerable patients, of which at least 6 de- cided to continue their pregnancy (several are still undecid- ed); facilitate 216 educational lessons on parenting, infant care, pregnancy/childbirth, men's issues and the Bible; sup- ply 79 packs of diapers and 64 of baby wipes, 4 cribs/ pack ‘n plays, 3 car seats, 8 layettes and had 7 requests for maternity clothes, 43 for baby clothes and 25 for formula/ food; invest countless hours listening to and lovingly guid- ing our patients and scattering many seeds of the Gospel into their hearts. We have had the joy of serving sixty-eight expectant moms with due dates in 2016. Twenty-seven of these moms-to- be had a change in contact information which prevented us from further follow-up. One of our expectant moms abort- ed her child and four others experienced loss through mis- carriage. For these moms; we grieve their loss and pray for God’s healing and comfort to rest upon them. We rejoice with the twenty-nine moms that gave birth. The names that decorate the Christmas tree belong to their precious little ones that were gifted to them by God this year. A publication of the Abel Pregnancy Resource Center: A place of hope for those making pregnancy decisions

This year, your support has allowed us to: serve

151 unique patients/clients with a total of 382 visits to the

center for services; perform 58 pregnancy tests and 75 ul-

trasounds; provide lay counseling and/or medical services

maternity clothes, 43 for baby clothes and 25 for formula/

food; invest countless hours listening to and lovingly guid-

ing our patients and scattering many seeds of the Gospel

into their hearts.

We have had the joy of serving sixty-eight expectant moms

with due dates in 2016. Twenty-seven of these moms-to-

be had a change in contact information which prevented us

from further follow-up. One of our expectant moms abort-

ed her child and four others experienced loss through mis-

carriage. For these moms; we grieve their loss and pray for

God’s healing and comfort to rest upon them. We rejoice

with the twenty-nine moms that gave birth. The names that

decorate the Christmas tree belong to their precious little

ones that were gifted to them by God this year.

Your support, that we do not take for granted, allows us to

continue to provide life-saving and transforming ministry

to families throughout our communities. If you are looking

for a place to share an end-of-the-year gift, we would ap-

$26,000

$20,790.23

Since we began this campaign, we’ve continued to research ul-trasound machines and have determined that it would be in the best interest of our patients and our supporters, that are entrusting their sacrificial gifts to us, to purchase a newer ultrasound machine model than the less expensive 5 year old model that initially drew our atten-tion. This shift in direction means that we have increased our fund drive by an additional $6,000. We were recently provided a demo on the Alpinion E-Cube 7, the machine that we intend to purchase with these campaign funds. It was wonderful! It is our hope that we will reach our campaign goal by the end of the year.

Every first-time client that

comes to the Center for services is

invited to fill out an exit question-

naire letting us know how they felt

about their visit and how we could

improve our delivery of services. In

response to the question, “Thinking

about your visit today, how would

you rate your overall experience at

this center?,” 91% rated their overall

experience as excellent and the other

9% as good. 99% of our first-time

clients indicated that they would

strongly recommend the Center to a

friend facing similar circumstances.

Here are some of the com-

ments that our clients

wrote in their own

works... ”Wonderful

staff, wonderful facil-

ity. This is the only

place that really

helped me. Thank

you.”, “I felt extreme-

ly comfortable.”; “Thank you to all

the staff for the help & understand-

ing. Also for being so nice to me.”;

“Thank you for taking time to talk

with me—help with the baby before

he comes. I only have

two more months be-

fore he gets here &

have very little for

him.”; “Helped me get

very informed. Great

information.”; “Very

good, learned a lot &

very helpful.”; “I love that the staff

is so nice, willing to help.”

Recently we have been challenged by an article entitled “Are You a Good Neigh-

bor? Or...How Could You Be a Better Neighbor in Your Community?” The answer to this

question is something that we will seek to answer in 2017. Foundational to answering this

question will be to better get to know Jesus and how he engaged with his neighbors—the

people he met in the communities to which he traveled. He

tells us to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Another scrip-

ture that we will seek to apply to our organization in our de-

sire to be a better neighbor in our community is, “Also, seek

the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried

you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers,

you too will prosper.” (Jeremiah 29:7).

It will be our heart’s desire in 2017 to seek the Lord’s guidance on how we can

fulfill our mission of providing resources, pregnancy coaching and compassion to women

facing unplanned pregnancy situations, in such a way that the community is healthier and more prosperous. If this vision

excites you or resonates with you, please let us know. We’d love to explore how we might journey together for the good

of our neighbors and community.

“Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper”

As we get ready to begin a new year, we are gearing up for our

Baby Bottle Blessings campaign. This year we will kick off the campaign

on Sunday, January 15, which coincides with Sanctity of Human Life Sun-

day. God has incredibly blessed the baby bottle campaign, using it to pro-

vide for the needs of the pregnancy center. This year, we have received

$28,837.64 through baby bottle gifts from so many generous supporters

throughout the community.

We hope that you will

let us know how many baby

bottles you would like us to pre-

pare for your church, club, busi-

ness or organization in 2017.

Your continued support means

so much to us and those we

serve.

If you are new to the baby bottle campaign, here is how it works:

Call us to let us know how many bottles you need, hand them out to the

members of your group, and then fill the bottles with spare change, a

check or dollar bills. After collecting the bottles about 6 weeks later, re-

turn them to the Center or have us come out and pick them up.

Any amount will be appreciated and put to good use. If you need

information on how to get your church involved, please give us a call.

Are looking for a way to introduce your

group to the Baby Bottle Blessings cam-

paign? How about showing this new video?

It only takes 2 minutes. If you’d like to pre-

view it, just let us know.

Help with a Renovation Project—

We need to move a few outlets, pull

up some baseboard, mud some holes, hang and paint trim. If you have experi-

ence doing any of these things, we could use your help.

Join one of our event planning teams—The Baby Bottle Blessings cam-

paign begins in January and we’d love to have you help us with making phone

calls and delivering baby bottles. Then, starting in March, we could use your

help with planning the 20th Annual Master’s Open Golf tournament to be

held on Friday, June 16. This is a fun event to plan and participate in.

Kroger Community Rewards Program—supporting the Abel

PRC is as easy as swiping your Kroger Plus Card. To get start-

ed, go to www.kroger.com/communityrewards to set up an ac-

count that will link your Kroger Plus card to the Abel Crisis

Pregnancy Center. By shopping at Kroger and using your Krog-

er Plus card, the Abel PRC will receive a reward check each quarter.
