WINTER GREETINGS FROM THE AYERS! The Ayers family at Emilys wedding in November. As we are ending another year and in the time of celebrat- ing our Savior, we also give thanks for you!! We appreci- ate so much your words of encouragement, facebook messages, financial support, and most importantly, your prayers!! This has been a year of a lot of firsts (being evac- uated from Haiti), a lot of struggles, and a lot of learning experiences. We could not have survived it all without God's help through you and your prayers!!! We thank God for His protection and provision this year and we thank Him for the trials and struggles as we have drawn closer to Him because of it all. We anticipate returning to Haiti in 2020. The state of the country has improved slightly, but it is still unstable and too dangerous for teams to travel to sister churches, hos- pitals, etc. We pray that we can return with Mike and Dawn to do whatever is needed to help the Haitians in our communities. Several teams were scheduled to visit both compounds and have since cancelled trips. In the waiting, please continue to pray for Haiti and its people. We look for- ward to a time when teams can return and serve however God leads. Our family has been actively serving God through Operation Christmas Child. We just finished a very busy, yet fruitful sea- son of the shoebox collection. Rod and I also led a team of 90 to Chicago to work at the processing center over Thanksgiving break. Our team consisted of people from 28 different church- 2019 OCC Team

WINTER GREETINGS FROM THE AYERS!

The Ayers family at Emily’s wedding in November.

As we are ending another year and in the time of celebrat-

ing our Savior, we also give thanks for you!! We appreci-

ate so much your words of encouragement, facebook

messages, financial support, and most importantly, your

prayers!! This has been a year of a lot of firsts (being evac-

uated from Haiti), a lot of struggles, and a lot of learning

experiences. We could not have survived it all without

God's help through you and your prayers!!! We thank

God for His protection and provision this year and we

thank Him for the trials and struggles as we have drawn

closer to Him because of it all.

We anticipate returning to Haiti in 2020. The state of the

country has improved slightly, but it is still unstable and

too dangerous for teams to travel to sister churches, hos-

pitals, etc. We pray that we can return with Mike and

Dawn to do whatever is needed to help the Haitians in our

communities. Several teams were scheduled to visit both

compounds and have since cancelled trips. In the waiting,

please continue to pray for Haiti and its people. We look for-

ward to a time when teams can return and serve however God

leads.

Our family has been actively serving God through Operation

Christmas Child. We just finished a very busy, yet fruitful sea-

son of the shoebox collection. Rod and I also led a team of 90

to Chicago to work at the processing center over Thanksgiving

break. Our team consisted of people from 28 different church-

WINTER 2019

es, 6 denominations, and 4 states. Some were people

we met in Haiti!! It was a wonderful team and a pic-

ture of the church coming together to serve as one in

Christ! There was a bit of anxiousness and uncertain-

ty as we traveled to a new location to work this year.

We have traveled to MN for 9 years and were accus-

tomed to how things were there. But, change is

good, and we had a great weekend and started new

traditions in our new location. We had some interac-

tion and gospel conversations with some of the hired

staff. Sharing our group meals with the staff was a

great way to open the door for good conversations.

And big and exciting news for our family.... Emily got

married on November 23rd! We have a new addition

to our family, Tony Savage!! It was a wonderful cele-

bration with friends and family. We are excited to see

how God will lead these two in their new lives togeth-

er! Please pray for them as they begin this new jour-

ney.

Thank you for your continued support through prayer

and giving. We cannot serve as we do without God

and your support. We look forward to another year to

serve wherever God leads. Please continue to pray for

us as we return to Haiti. There are many unknowns as

we return, but God knows!! We seek Him and follow

Him.
