The much awaited holidays are here yet again and

it’s time to play and have fun!! We have planned for you

some fun activities to make the optimum use of your

energy and give a vent to your creativity so that you

continue learning during the holiday break as well.

General Instructions:

Bring holiday homework in a beautiful folder with an

ecofriendly cover.

Parents are requested to only guide their children while

doing the assignments.

All the works should be handwritten and done neatly and

independently.

Originality of the work will be appreciated.

creativity and originality of ideas.

The Importance of the English Language

No one can doubt the significance of the English language in the modern times. Perhaps

no language has gained so much acclaim and popularity as English. Known to be the

‘lingua franca’ or the bridge language, it has indeed played a vital role in bringing people

from all walks of life, together.

Whether it is students, professionals, men, women, young or old, all seem to be in a rush

to acquire proficiency in English, so that they do not lag behind. Whether you work,

study or are plain active on the social media, you need to have the requisite skills to

communicate. And communication today is in none other than the English language.

Indeed it may surprise you to know that English may not be the most spoken language in

the world, but it is the official language in a large number of countries.

If you must enter the global work force, English is a must as it is the dominant business

language and the maximum cross border business communication is conducted in

English.

Now, let’s move from work to the world of entertainment. Many of the world’s top films,

music and books are produced in English, and if not, are certainly translated into the

same. Thus, managing an access to the great wealth of entertainment calls for a fluency in

English. In fact, most of the content produced on the internet is in English.

Students too cannot deny the inevitable role English has, not only in the current

curriculum, albeit even when they think about higher education. No doubt then, this

interesting language has acquired maximum followers. Hope you are not far behind!!

PROJECT # 2 TITLE: INDIAN MATHEMATICIANS

OBJECTIVES

To make the students aware of Indian Mathematicians and their contributions.

IMPLEMENTATION

Collect information about the Mathematicians given below according to your roll number.

Roll number 9 – 17 - Brahmagupta Roll number 18 – 27 - Sreenivasa Ramanujan

Information should include biography/ picture/ contribution to Math.
