    It's time for the winter sports at Monroeentral High School. Those who played

    ither volleyball, football, golf or soccer inhe fall gave us a very good start to theear, but now it's time for our basketballlayers and our wrestlers to bring in theictories. Team players are working veryard already with practices and scrim-ages.Coach Troy Baker, who coached the

    irl's volleyball earlier this fall, has 24 girlslaying basketball this season. "We've still

    got a lot of work to do. We do have a pret-ty good mix though. We grouped the sen-iors and juniors so we should be all right.It's still too early to tell at this point whatto expect."

    Their first game is Nov. 26 at River.Coach Greg Taylor, boy's basketball

    coach, has a team of 29 this season. "Rightnow, the boys are working very hard.They're currently learning to rebound. It'stoo early to tell much at this point. All ofthe boys are working for playing time. Allof the coaches are very pleased with howthey are doing so far," says Taylor. Their

    first game is Dec. 2 at Caldwell. "I hopepeople come out and support the boys andall their hard work."

    Wrestling coach Tyler Schumacher has15 wrestlers this year. "This is the firsttime we've had these kinds of numbers ina while. It's more competitive now. Wehave a lot of first year kids this year.They're coming along really well. Thingsare going really good for us so far."

    Their first match is at Magnolia againstMagnolia and Shenandoah on Dec. 7.
