Further Considerations Identification of each laptop Identification and serial number noted. Each laptop numbered on the top of the laptop so that pupils can

easily find the laptop they were working on previously if work has been saved on the hard drive of that computer (i.e. when still in the drafting stage of work). pupils save the laptops hard drive if they are at the drafting stage of a large piece of work i.e. Multimedia. Completed work is saved to the central saved work area.

Saving Work Pupils initially save to floppy disk – this provides a concrete

example of computer storage Pupils move on to either saving work to the laptop they are

using if they are at the drafting stage of a large piece of work ie. Multimedia. Completed work is saved to the central saved work area.

There is a shared work area on an old office computer, to which pupils can save and retrieve their work from their own folders. This provides a portfolio of the work the children do over a year.

Staff also have their own folders for storing work and records of achievement.

Staff received training on setting up pupil folders in the shared work area, and saving and loading work from this.
