The Week in Review – ~Laurel Helton brought us up to date this week on what is happening with Make a Difference Day after 25 years of making a difference. Back in 1992 our town received the a first place in the compilation of cities across the country as we made a huge splash with almost 25,000 participants in the event. Since that beginning with have received at least 6 or 7 encore presentations for our work. We have been av-eraging about 8,000 participants the last few years and it is coming up again on October 22nd. To find out what proj-ects are being planned you can go o their website (www.wenatcheemkdd.com) and wee many of the opportunities to participate. You can even register your own project. No project is to small or to large to participate. Their motto is “See a need… do a good deed.Christina Davitt introduced our newest member Talia But-ler. Talia attended both WSU and the U of W giving her a more balanced approach to things. She is a tax attorney, with Ogden, Murphy, Wallace. Talia is a former Rotarian with the Kirkland, WA club. Welcome Talia to Wenatchee Rotary! Ford Barrett with the help of Mario Cantu gave a charge quoting our founder Paul Harris “Develop Acquain-tances to do good.” Get to know Rotarians and make friends while doing good.Kory Kalahar thanked Terry Sorom, Alice Meyers and Al Bridges for helping to clean up the area around the new sign at WestSide High School. He also announced that work is about begin a new basketball and sports facility on their campus. They now have over 300 students and are one of the fasting growing in the state.

We have set a goal of saving 15,000 lives through our Club 60 donations this year. That is approximately $3,000 that needs to be raised. Remember the Bill Gates Foundation is still matching our donations 2 for 1. All it takes is 60¢ a week, not even a half a cup of coffee, and you will save someone from the dibil-itating effects of polio and perhaps their live. Bring your loose change each week or if you don’t have any change bring dollars and place them in the cups on each table.
