Day 1: Arrive Denpasar, Bali, transfer to hotel, Welcome dinner

Day 2+3:  Guided Cultural Orientation including Tanah Lot, Monkey Forest Temple and Markets

Day 4: Minivan to Tambenan, check in to guest

house 

Day 5: Orientation and induction at host organisation 

Day 5-End:  Placement at host organisation (5

days a week*) Weekend trip away to Ubud with tour of local waterfall and cooking class

Final Day:  Bus to airport and depart for home

YOUR ITINERARY

What Will I Do? 

Under the supervision of an Australian

Engineer and local staff you will attend a

week long training intensive at the Bali

Appropriate Technology Institute and learn

about hydraulic ram pumps, rain water

catchment, ferro cement tanks, sanitary

systems, micro hydro power plants and hand

built water pumps. Then work

collaboratively with

local villagers to develop, implement and

deliver access to clean water and toilet

facilities and deliver education and training

on basic principles of water hygiene.

What will I learn?

Interpersonal, communication, technical and

professional skills, teamwork, critical

thinking and cultural awareness. 

Where:

A rural not-for-profit project, located 2

hours north of Kuta. 

Suitable for:

Engineering, Environment & Urban Planning

university or college student (must have

completed at least 1st year of their degree),

OR a Professional in this area. 

THE PLACEMENT

*Your weekends will be free, allowing you time to explore or undertake local activities at your own expense. *Please note this itinerary is subject to change. 

LOG BOOK HOURS

You may accrue Category 1 Professional Practicum Log Book Hours that satisfy

Engineering Australia's guidelines (check with your university  to ensure your

eligibility)

4 week placement = 160 hours 8 week placement = 320 hours
