The Cord has had an online presence since 2005, and in 2009 launched a redesigned website.It is another portal used to reach, engage and inform the Laurier community. The cord.ca is a news website featuring all of our content that appears in print plus daily news updates. As well,wehave online features such as videos, blogs, photo galleries and more. Thecord.ca also uses online social networking groups like Facebook and Twitter to link more readers to our site.

Ad space for thecord.ca is purchased on a first come first serve basis. Space is purchased on a weekly basis and can be stationary or rotating through 3 ads. Our week corresponds with the publication of The Cord which is printed on Wednesday of each week. Advertisements will be updated 4am Wednesday mornings. Purchase and ad copy deadlines are at Noon on the Thursday prior to the date of publication. Please ensure that you send all web artwork in JPEG or GIF file format. If your web ad is animated please ensure that it is saved as a .SWF flash file or as an animated GIF image. Please send all artwork accurately sized in the proper format to [email protected].

Blueprint is Wilfrid Laurier University’sofficial student magazine. Editoriallyindependent and focused around issues of art, culture, and commentary, Blueprintis a forum for community engagement,discourse, and creativity.

The content is based around each issue’s theme, and can take the form of art, poetry,prose, photography, and cultural & politicalcriticism. Submissions are accepted on a freelance basis from students, alumni, and community members. Submissions are edited and compiled by a student run editorial team.

Terms &Conditions

Policies:The terms and conditions, which apply to all advertising printed or distributed by WLU Student Publications, are as follows:All copy and type arrangements subject to approval of the publisher. Printing of key numbers not guaranteed. Advertisements are charged face measurements plus 1/8th inch above and 1/8th inch below to allow for shoulders. The advertiser agrees that the publisher shall not be liable for damages arising out of errors in the advertisements containing the error. The publisher is not responsible for publications of incorrect material unless orders are accompanied by copy or legible proofs for identification. All telephone orders and cancellations must be confirmed in writing. Liability is not accepted for any non-insertion of any advertisement. The publisher is notresponsible for advertising material unless return delivery instructions are received within 30 days after publication. Contest advertisements must be submitted in advance and include rules. List of winners must be filed with the publisher. Contingent orders not accepted.An order not corresponding with the current rate card will be regarded as a clerical error and the advertising will be inserted at face rate.

Advertising Deadlines:There is a 25% addition for ads accepted after the deadline. Advertisements accepted after the deadlineare not guaranteed for print quality or clarity. A $25.00 charge is added for copy changes after the deadline.

Proofs:Proofs will be emailed or faxed on request. Proofs can also be picked up at the Student Publications office.

Tear Sheets:Tear sheets will include the entire page on which the ad appears, showing the date of the publication and will be forwarded with the invoice. high quality printouts and/or disk copies of advertisements produced by Student Publications can be purchased.

Cancellation policy:Cancellation after the deadline will result in payment of full.

NSF Cheques:A fee of $20.00 will be charged to any account issuing a N.S.F. cheque

Inserts:Inserts must not contain 3rd party advertising. All inserts must be approved by the Advertising Manager. Inserts larger than one page will be charged a premium for additional pages. Inserts will only be accepted on non-glossy paper. Be advised that we only accept three inserts per issue.No inserts for the First Year Mailer.

Payment:Payments can be made to WLU Student Publications. Balance is due upon receipt of invoice. First timeadvertisers are required to pay in advance. There will be an additional 25%. All prices in effect until April 30, 2012, however we reserve the right to respond to unanticipated price increases. Prices do not include HST.

Discounts:Discounts may be cancelled or withheld if the customer fails to comply with the terms and conditions.
