A product of Western Australian Basketball, Andy Stewart has held head coaching
positions at Athletes in Action Australia and the Lakeside Lightning in Western
Australia’s State Basketball League, winning four championships and five coach of
the year awards at the helm of the club.
Stewart also served as an Assistant Coach at NBL club Perth Wildcats, playing a
part in two championship seasons in 2009/10 and 2013/14.
In just two seasons as Head Coach of the Perth Lynx, Stewart has been named
WNBL Coach of the year, leading his side to the finals in both years.

Player Bio Courtney Williams is a WNBA star with the Connecticut Sun, and joins the Perth Lynx after a breakout season in the USA. Williams became a WNBA starter in her second professional season, and comes to the Lynx as one of the highest credentialed signings in the club’s 30 year history. The USA Gold medallist will look to display her elite athleticism and knockdown mid-range jumpshot during her time in Australia.

Player Bio Amanda Dowe played 121 for Charlotte during her time in college, starting every game throughout her junior and senior years. Dowe has played professionally in Spain, Germany and France, and joins the Perth Lynx after averaging a league-leading 10.1 rebounds per game for France’s Bretagne Basket.

Player Bio Toni Farnworth is an experienced guard who has played in the WNBL since 2007, building an impressive résumé of 211 WNBL games. Farnworth began her career as Toni Edmondson, before changing to her married name ahead of the 2017/18 season. The hard-working New Zealander has captained the Tall Ferns, winning four silver medals in her time with the national team, and started all 27 games for the Perth Lynx in 2016/17.

Player Bio Alex Ciabattoni began her career at Newman College in Wichita, where she quickly established herself as the go-to player on the team. Ciabattoni led her college outfit in scoring, rebounding, steals and blocks, and was named Heartland Conference Player of the Year as a result. In 2015/16, Ciabattoni joined her hometown Adelaide Lightning, and was named WNBL Rookie of the Year after a terrific debut season.

Player Bio Alice Kunek is an versatile forward who joins the Perth Lynx after a season as captain of the Melbourne Boomers. At 26 years of age, Kunek already has a decade of WNBL experience under her belt, having first debuted for AIS in 2007/08. Kunek recently represented Australia at the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup, and has won four medals at international level.

The 24-year-old Thompson brings length and athleticism at the forward position, and is capable of guarding multiple positions. Thompson was named Most Valuable Player of the South Australian Premier League in 2016, after leading the league in scoring (22.6ppg) and rebounding (13.9rpg).

Player Bio Kayla Standish attended Gonzaga University from 2008-2012, finishing her career as the program’s leader in games played and blocked shots. Standish was drafted by the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx, before moving to Australia to begin her WNBL career. She has twice appeared in the WNBL Grand Final, and has played 98 games through her first four years in the league.

Junior Association Buena High School
Player Bio Sami Whitcomb has gone from strength to strength in her time in the WNBL. The American born guard has made the WNBL All-Star Five and won the Perth Lynx club MVP in each of her two seasons in the league. In 2016/17, Whitcomb set the all-time WNBL record for most points in a season, an effort which saw her rewarded with a WNBA contract with the Seattle Storm.
