Principal’s Report

NAIDOC Week – This year our Aboriginal students have taken on the role of NAIDOC Ambassadors, leading us in celebrating. Our ambassadors have carried out a range of leadership roles, including leading morning assemblies and our Friday assembly this week. Please see our timetable of activities for tomorrow overleaf. We would love you to come and join us. Please note, our Assembly will begin at 12.00pm tomorrow.

Brainstorm productions – K-6 students watched the Brainstorm production “The Magic Words” this morning. The production gave some great messages about how to deal with difficult social situations and identified the importance of respectful behaviour.

Athletics Carnivals – The weather last Friday gave us a great opportunity to carry out our Track Carnival. Thank you to the wonderful canteen team that set up facilities on the field and also to the family volunteers that jumped in to help and make it a terrific day. Our students were wonderful, showing great sportsmanship throughout the day.

On the other hand, our Field Events Carnival is a different matter. After being thwarted by rain, we managed to get through the first of four events yesterday during the middle session, before the heavens opened again. We will attempt to complete our program of events on the first Wednesday back next term, in the morning and middle sessions. Please note, these events are for students turning 8 years and older this year.

Term 3 – Students recommence school on Tuesday 14th July. On the Monday, staff will conduct a School Development Day, focusing on Visible Learning, Curriculum Planning and LMBR.

Woolworths Earn and Learn Community Program

Our school is taking part in the Woolworths Earn & Learn Community program, which runs from Wednesday 15th July 2015 to Tuesday 8th September 2015

Woolworths will give you one Earn & Learn sticker for every $10 you spend in store (excluding the purchase of tobacco, liquor and gift cards).

All you need to do is place the stickers on your Woolworths Sticker Card, (Sticker Cards are available from the front office or your local store and can also be printed from our school website or by clicking on Earn & Learn Sticker Card link if you receive the school newsletter electronically).

When completed you can bring the completed Sticker Card to the Front Office at school and place into the special collection box.

Students can also drop stickers into our green Woolies collection box in the foyer if they do not wish to place them on the sticker card.

At the end of the promotion our collection of points can be against a choice of more than 7,000 educational resources. This list is extensive and includes library books, classroom equipment, art & craft materials and much much more...There's no limit to the number of points we can collect, so your participation will really make a difference. For further information go to woolworths.com.au/earnandlearn.
