Message from the

PEIWI Exhibition Committee Chair

The 97th Handcrafts, Horticulture, and Arts Show

is fast approaching and I am looking forward to this

Island tradition with great excitement and

anticipation.

With so many talented artists across our province, it

is always a joy for the Exhibition Committee to receive these entries in

every category. Big or small, novice or old hands, all are welcome to

enter their items to be judged and displayed. The beautiful display of

flowers and vegetables are also always enjoyed by our visitors each

year.

The pilot project taken on by the Greater Charlottetown WI with the

food display presented on a slideshow was deemed a success. So

beginning this year, the food will be judged and photographed at the

Farm Centre, and entrants will pick up their food entries later in the day.

The prize list of each class and section is listed on our website. Please

read the rules carefully and follow the deadline for submission.

Our committee is organizing two (tentative) workshops again this year:

Acrylic pour painting, and a mini rug hooking class. When plans are

finalized, these workshops will be advertised on peiwi.ca and on the

PEIWI Facebook page.

Up to three winners will once again be selected for the Premier’s Craft

Education Award by the PEIWI Awards Committee and appropriate

judges for a chance to receive up to $3,000 to go towards the winner(s)

craft of choice.

It takes many volunteers and sponsors to make this event a success. For

each of you, I am so very thankful for your efforts, time, and support.

Best of luck to all participants! I look forward to another year of fun and

beautiful displays!
