ANNUAL FALL ACTIVITIES SIGN UP Please plan on attending the September General Meeting---- a great time to visit with old and new friends. If you have a neighbor or friend that may be interested in joining the Club, please bring her! This is also the time to find out about all the exciting Activities going on throughout the coming year. There will be representatives from each Activity to answer questions and help those interested sign up and get involved. Ideas for new activities are always encouraged. So, please let us know your
thoughts and interests! DIRECTIONS: From the North from Reston Parkway: Drive South on Reston Parkway. Turn left on to Baron Cameron (Home Depot). Continue .7miles and take a right on to Village Road, take a left on to North Shore Dr. and an immediate right onto Washington Plaza. The Community Center is located across from the Millennium Bank at 1609A Washington Place. From the South from Reston Parkway: Drive North On Reston Parkway. Turn right on to Baron Cameron

Welcome back members!
I hope to see you all at our September General Meeting where we can catch-up on what we’ve been doing over the summer and then hear about all the activities that are available to you to participate in during the coming year. By signing up in September, you help the chair- women to plan for the next year. Remember that you may contact the chairwoman and join any group at any time during the year.
We have some generous ladies who always open their homes to activities, but we always are looking for additional homes. If you’re able to participate in this way please do.
Please mark your Calendars for our first special event of the season which will be on October 7th. There will be more information at the September General meeting and in October’s newsletter
We have a wonderful group and such a variety of activities, I hope you’ll tell your friends and neighbors about us or better yet bring them along!

You can look forward to our October speaker who is an investment and financial planning specialist who will give us insight as to profitable and safe investment strategies in this turbulent market. Duplicate Bridge group welcomes couples/partnerships and singles to play bridge in which most players bid the current conventions. While competitive, it is not a “serious” group and convivial, learning-oriented review of play is welcome. No food, just bridge. Please email Pepper if you wish to participate

Casual Dining is a group of singles and couples meeting at 6 PM on the 2nd Saturday of the month. The hostess provides a main course of her choice for 8 to 16 people (hostess specifies number). Each guest household brings a menu item to share: salad, appetizer, vegetable, dessert, bread, and other side dishes. It's BYOB and each person contributes $5/meal to defray costs to the hostess. If
numbers require it, we will open a second host-home for a given dinner date.

Bunco is an easy to learn dice game. Everyone is welcome. We roll the dice, we count, we chat, we yell BUNCO, and at the end we might have won a prize! The only thing you need to bring is $5 for prizes. Hope to see you there

Monthly Mah Jongg is held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. There will be two sign-up sheets at our first General Meeting on September 20th. This will be for people who are interested in playing Mah Jongg as well as a sheet for needed hostess.

**Please indicate the food item you will bring. I will compile a list and send that information to all attendees a few days before.
*Normally wine tasting is scheduled for the 3rd Saturday of each month (at a member’s home) however, the winery suggested Sunday as it should be less crowded.

Join us on Saturday, September 15th from 9-6pm for a day of antiquing at the DC Big Flea Market at the Dulles Expo Center, Chantilly, VA. Admission $8 good for both days We will meet at the North Point Shopping Center in Reston outside the Starbucks or inside if raining at 8:30 to carpool. Lots of dealers with all kinds of antiques and collectibles. Bring plenty of cash as antique dealers like cash or checks. We will meet up inside for our very casual food that they serve at an appointed time. Be sure to bring your cell phone so we can find each other if we have questions. Wear comfortable shoes as the concrete floors can hurt after a while! No need to call ahead, just show up. Any questions calls, Gail Crockett, 703-615-8933 (cell).
LOOKING AHEAD: Join us on Friday, October 12th for Antiquing at the Falls Church Antique Center and around that area. We also plan a fun lunch in that area. Meet at 9:30 at the North Point Shopping Center in Reston outside Starbucks or inside if raining so we can carpool. We usually try to get home by 3:30 or so. No need to call ahead, just show up.
