You will need this manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly,operating, inspection, maintenance and cleaning procedures, parts list and as-sembly diagram. GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

1. KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN AND DRY. Cluttered, damp, or wet work areasinvite injuries.

2. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY FROM WORK AREA. Do not allow children to handlethis product.

3. STORE IDLE EQUIPMENT. When not in use, tools and equipment should bestored in a dry location to inhibit rust. Always lock up tools and equipment, andkeep out of reach of children.

4. DO NOT USE OR ASSEMBLE THIS PRODUCT IF UNDER THE INFLUENCEOF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine ifyour judgement or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt,do not attempt to use this product.

5. USE EYE PROTECTION. Wear ANSI approved safety impact eye goggles whenassembling this product. ANSI approved safety impact eye goggles are availablefrom Harbor Freight Tools.

6. DRESS SAFELY. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, as they can become caughtin moving parts. Wear a protective hair covering to prevent long hair from becomingcaught in moving parts. If wearing a long-sleeve shirt, roll sleeves up above el-bows.

7. DO NOT OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and balance at all times to preventtripping, falling, back injury, etcetera.

8. INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS MUST FOLLOW OSHA REQUIREMENTS.

9. STAY ALERT. Watch what you are doing at all times. Use common sense. Do notassemble or use this product when you are tired or distracted from the job at hand.

10. CHECK FOR DAMAGED PARTS. Before using this product, carefully check that itwill operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for damaged partsand any other conditions that may affect the operation of this product. Replace orrepair damaged or worn parts immediately.

11. REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ACCESSORIES: When servicing, use only identi-cal replacement parts. Only use accessories intended for use with this product.Approved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools.

12. MAINTAIN THIS PRODUCT WITH CARE. Keep this product clean and dry forbetter and safer performance.

13. MAINTENANCE: For your safety, service and maintenance should be performedregularly by a qualified technician.

14. USE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB. Do not attempt to force small equipment todo the work of larger industrial equipment. There are certain applications for whichthis equipment was designed. It will do the job better and more safely at the capac-ity for which it was intended. Do not modify this equipment, and do not use thisequipment for a purpose for which it was not intended.

2. MAKE SURE TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS ANDSAFETY PRECAUTIONS AS OUTLINED IN THE MANUFACTURER’SMANUAL FOR THE MODEL 42709 UTILITY TRAILER BEFORE USE ANDINSTALLATION. Make sure to attach the Wooden Side Panel to the Utility Trailermanufacturer’s recommended assembly points. People and animals are not to begiven rides in the Utility Trailer. It is for materials use only.

3. ALWAYS EXAMINE THE WOODEN SIDE PANEL KIT FOR LOOSE MOUNT-ING BOLTS, CRACKED AND BROKEN FRAMES, AND ANY OTHER CONDI-TION THAT MAY AFFECT ITS SAFE OPERATION. Do not use the WoodenSide Panel Kit even if minor damage appears.

UNPACKING

When unpacking, check to make sure all the parts shown on the Parts List (page 7) areincluded. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at thenumber shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: For additional references to the parts listed below, refer to the AssemblyDiagram (page 7). The Utility Trailer should be on a flat, level surface with wheelsblocked, while the Wooden Side Panel Kit is being assembled.

To Attach The Upright Panel Supports To The Side Panels:

1. Align the six uppermost mounting holes of an Upright Panel Support (part #12)with the two mounting holes located in the center of each of three Side Panels(part #10). (See Assy. Diagram.)

2. Use six Bolts (part #4), six Washers (part #2), and six Nuts (part #3) to securethe Upright Panel Support (part #12) to the three Side Panels (part #10).(See Assy. Diagram.)

3. Repeat Steps #1 and #2 for the other three Upright Panel Supports (part #12)and remaining nine Side Panels (part #10). (See Assy. Diagram.)

To Attach The Upright Panel Supports To The Front And Rear Panels:

1. Align the six uppermost mounting holes in each of two Upright Panel Supports(part #12) with the two mounting holes located in the center of each of threeFront Panels (part #11). (See Assy. Diagram.)

2. Use twelve Bolts (part #4), twelve Washers (part #2), and twelve Nuts (part #3) to

secure the Upright Panel Supports (part #12) to the three Front Panels (part#11). (See Assy. Diagram.)

3. Repeat Steps #1 and #2 for the remaining two Upright Panel Supports (part #12)and remaining three Rear Panels (part #11). (See Assy. Diagram.)

To Attach The Front And Rear Sections Of The Side Panel Assemblies:

1. With assistance, place the ends of two Side Panel Assemblies (part 10) together.Next, insert three Side Panel Plates (part #8) over the three connecting ends ofthe two Side Panel Assemblies. Then, secure the three connecting ends of thetwo Side Panel Assemblies, using twelve Bolts (part #4), twelve Washers (part#2), and twelve Nuts (part #3). (See Assy. Diagram.)

2. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining two Side Panel Assemblies (part #10).(See Assy. Diagram.)

To Attach The Latches/Latch Housings To The Side Panel Assemblies:

1. Locate the four mounting holes at each end of an uppermost, previously as-sembled, Side Panel Assembly (part #10). Then secure one Latch/Latch Hous-ing (parts #9, #13) to each end, using four Bolts (part #4), four Washers (part #2),and four Nuts (part #3) for each Latch/Latch Housing. (See Assy. Diagram.)

2. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining Side Panel Assembly (part #10) and remainingtwo Latch/Latch Housings (parts #9, #13). (See Assy. Diagram.)

To Attach The Latch Plates To The Front/Rear Panel Assemblies:

1. Locate the four mounting holes at each end of an uppermost, previously as-sembled, Front Panel Assembly (part #11). Then secure one Latch Plate (part#7) to each end, using four Bolts (part #4), four Washers (part #2), and four Nuts(part #3) for each Latch Plate. (See Assy. Diagram.)

2. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining Rear Panel Assembly (part #11) and remainingtwo Latch Plates (part #7). (See Assy. Diagram.)

To Attach The Side Panel Assemblies And Front/Rear Panel Assemblies To TheUtility Trailer:

1. With assistance, insert the two Upright Panel Supports (part #12) of one SidePanel Assembly (part #10) into the two mounting slots located on the side of the

Utility Trailer. Align the two mounting holes at the bottom of the Upright Panelswith the two mounting holes in the slots. Then secure the Side Panel Assemblyto the Utility Trailer, using one Bolt (part #5), one Washer (part #6), and one Nut(part #14) for each Upright Panel Support. (See Assy. Diagram.)

2. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining Side Panel Assembly (part #10).(See Assy. Diagram.)

3. With assistance, insert the two Upright Panel Supports (part #12) of one FrontPanel Assembly (part #11) into the two mounting slots located on the front end ofthe Utility Trailer. Then, secure the Front Panel Assembly to the two Side PanelAssemblies (part #10) by locking the Latch (part #9) in the Latch Plate (part #7).(See Assy. Diagram.)

4. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining Rear Panel Assembly (part #11).(See Assy. Diagram.)

5. For convenient loading and unloading, simply unlock the Latch (part #9) from theLatch Plate (part #7). Lift up on the Front/Rear Panel Assembly (part #11), andtemporarily remove the Front/Rear Panel Assembly. CAUTION: ALWAYSreattach the Front/Rear Panel Assembly to the Utility Trailer and lock all fourLatches after the Trailer has been loaded and unloaded. (See Assy. Diagram.)

INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING

1. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the Wooden Side Panel.Check for loose mounting bolts, misalignment or binding of moving parts,cracked, bent, or broken parts, accidentally unlocked Latches (part #9), and anyother condition that may affect its safe operation. If abnormal noise or vibrationoccurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use damagedequipment.

2. TO CLEAN, use only water and a mild detergent. Keep the Wooden Side PanelKit clean and dry, if possible, to prolong the life of the wood.
